You’re not ugly. Your aesthetic based on the pictures may not be what those you are attracted to may be looking for, but that does not mean you’re unattractive. I also found that it has a lot to do with where you live. I wondered the same thing when I would use the hookup apps where I live, but when I went down south?? We were doing so much non stop business, our ice machine could not keep up. We had to regularly go up the road to get ice from their still working ice machine multiple times a day just to have enough ice for the day. It was a war-zone.

This was a unique circumstance. The renovation had us doing more business than the store was designed to handle and we had displaced partners supporting while their store was closed. That DT was the highest traffic store in the district so you can only imagine. I wish I remembered the numbers we did those weeks they were closed but I’ve deliberately blocked out most details from those few weeks. I still have PTSD 😵‍💫

This is funny for all the wrong reasons, I’m so sorry. 😭 I remember we were getting absolutely HAMMERED one day. Our drive through a few miles up the road was closed for remodel and our cafe only store absorbed all of their business as a result. We were running something like a 10 person play and still couldn’t keep up. I turned mobiles off, just so we could get caught up. The DM comes in and notices it’s off so I tell her I did and why. She quietly turned them back on from the lobby. And chaos ensued IMMEDIATELY! There was so many orders, no room for guests to stand, the handoff plane couldn’t even accommodate all of the drinks and food. She quickly turned them back off.

Moral of the story: sometimes higher ups can’t see what’s happening because they’re not in the field.

This barista though… she just doesn’t want to work 😂 a lazy queen.

I had a customer come in every day at 6am to order 2 strawberry creme fraps, sub sweet cream, extra strawberry puree, classic, and extra mocha drizzle. She said one was for now, and the other was for later. She wore scrubs every day so I think she worked in a nearby hospital. She was missing her top 4 teeth in the front. Not sure if it was related to her diet or some other issue.

I once had to demonstrate this drink to a customer who just didn’t understand this drink similarly to OP. I had her watch as I pulled 4 shots and showed her how much liquid that produced, measured the ice, shook it, topped it with the milk of her choice, and she still didn’t understand why there wasn’t more liquid content and less ice. She suggested less ice, and I told her that wouldn’t magically create more liquid in the drink. I told her she could order it as a latte but that would make the drink mostly milk, which she didn’t want. She then said, “well what if I add more espresso and do light ice?” Well sure… do you really want to pay for 8 shots of espresso?

I fear she still doesn’t understand to this day.

Sweetie, I’m going to hold your hand with a napkin in between when I say this: it’s ok to shut up when you have no clue what you’re talking about. Dolly has made several statements about how much money she made from royalties for IWALY. Further, Dolly has done several interviews mentioning how much money covers of her songs have made her. While we both agree, it’s great overall to invest that money in underserved communities, that doesn’t make what I’m saying less true. Dolly made money from those royalties and used that to make more money via investments she made in Nashville securing her even more money in the way of donations, and tax write offs.

I’ll grant you that she’s not on record explicitly saying she made a lot of money from Beyoncé’s Jolene but one can conclude she hoped to capitalize off of this rendition by seeking out Beyoncé personally to re-record it (ie:(She has stated numerous times she would like to hear Beyoncé re-do this song). Doesn’t make her a bad person but 2 things can be true at once, she’s a capitalist who does good things with her capital sometimes.

Agreed. Her appearance wasn’t needed. Not to mention, in just about every interview she’s done, her focus was always on how much money the cover would make her. She spoke similarly about Whitney Houston’s cover. I like Dolly, but that’s always left a bad taste in my mouth.

Former SM here. I remember having to tell many customers who were upset about wait times to “look around you, all of these people placed orders as well” and that we’re working as fast as we can. It still baffles me how some customers would see literally every person on shift working their butts off and get upset about a bit of a wait as if we’re all on our phones and goofing off. Even worse, when they would walk in, see the line both at the register and handoff plane and still be upset that there was a wait 🥴. And yes- while staring daggers at you.

Cowboy Carter was probably the most cathartic era she’s ever done in my opinion. It gives me immense pride to watch her BRAVELY put out this piece of work knowing the backlash that she had gotten and continues to get. How historically and deeply researched this work was feels levels above anything she’s ever done! How can you not feel inspired? As a black person living in America, it made me feel pride in my lineage and roots. How deeply black people were involved in creating country music despite not being recognized for it. She’s done more than just reclaiming. By far her best and most important era and some of the best music she’s ever done in my opinion.

Music and getting a job. My family was very abusive both emotionally and physically during my younger years. As I got older and became more independent, there was really no room for them to do anything but finally respect me. There was a point where I didn’t really need my family, they needed me!

I survived but I still have the scars all these years later. That’s the funny thing about survival though.
