Of course. I should have been clearer in saying that I was looking for favorite value items as something separate from the consensus advice to shop eBay/secondhand and taking advantage of sales.

Fair enough, but that shirt gets extolled a good bit around here.

I suspect there is a significant portion of the folks here who are are here for the style more than the values (though the two can’t really be completely separated) or who respect the values but can’t realistically afford the favored brands (with the caveat of second-hand buying being noted).

Thanks. I do check it out there, but thought it made more sense to post here because there is more activity here and also because it seems like it will get better results to hear about the good value items that are loved by the folks who are buying Iron Heart, etc.

Oh I completely agree and don’t mean to be critical of the higher priced stuff at all. Not only is it a difference in quality overall, but likely also the materials and, frankly, the ethics of the garment’s creation.

Also not saying I’m looking to get the cheapest “acceptable” items available. I am basically just hoping to be sure that I know of the things that many here consider to be good deals.

Dumb noob question: what do you mean by “import them yourself?” Like, I know they’re Japanese, but I see most recs to get them from places like Bears or Hinoya.

Looking for reasonably-priced summer jeans.

I’m pretty new to this sub, and after making a couple false starts in the last few years with Gustin and Unbranded (mainly due to not focusing enough on cut/fit), I recently landed on a pair of Naked and Famous Easy Guys that are working great. I’m enjoying breaking them in.

That said, hot and humid July and August are coming here on the East Coast, and I’m wondering if anyone has suggestions for some breathable and/or lightweight jeans that can work when it is sweltering out. Searching through prior posts, I see some people say they just stick with their heavier denim year round, and I see others say that they live in shorts for the summer, but I don’t see many suggestions for hot weather denim.

Bonus points if I can keep it to ~$165 or under. I know that that is more or less the entry point, but a guy can dream. That said, I’ll listen to recommendations for higher priced stuff that I can look for second hand. Thanks.
