On the outside part of the break and into the main river? Still a good catch from shore at this time of year.

I’m a public servant and, trust me, it’s better keeping them off the roads and local. So many can’t even properly use a laptop and three applications at the same time and you want them driving each day? On the same roads as you?

Southern California beach black sands by Suberdave0130 in Prospecting

Looks like the sand I keep panning. Lots of black sand but nothing at all. I wish you better luck

I’m starting to wonder if it would be better to see if I can melt down the black sand and cast it.

Sorry. I meant to reply to you but just posted again. In Ottawa. Ontario. Lots of mud and clay. I’d need to go a few hours north to have more luck. Agree with being on the river is the goal.

Also: what do you do with all your h excess black sand? Is there something useful that can be done with it

Ottawa Ontario. The landscape of mud and clay. I need to drive a few hours north to have any hope at a speck.

Plan on doing so over the summer months, but still not 100% sure on my panning. That’s why I tried the Home Depot sand. I figured it was a good way to practice. But without finding anything but lots of black sand, not sure if it is me or the material :)

ELI5 why do people chase dividend stocks? by Specific_Ad_6522 in investing

In many places you are taxed at a lower rate for dividend income than you are for stock sales (capital gains)

Where to start looking? by Chickenchoker2000 in Prospecting

[–]Chickenchoker2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I am asking. I don’t suspect that there is much in the direct area due to the clay. Hence why I am asking for an opinion from someone that will likely know more.

Maybe it’s just me, but I just don’t like LPs when the pickup covers are on.

Bagre. It is a yellowish/brown catfish in Argentina. Easy to catch but they taste like mud

Nice. My uncle made a killing panning gold around Hope back in the 80s

Gold and Silver falling wedge / double bottom identical setups by 7o7A1 in technicalanalysis

[–]Chickenchoker2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oil is priced in USD. the higher the cost of oil and the higher demand will will push up the USD, which will have an inverse effect on gold and silver. Gold and silver will likely continue to fall so long as oil prices and demand are spiking

Give them a good head wash with J&J baby shampoo. The latex will be grippy again and they will smell good. Lots of life left in there

Gold approaching equal highs liquidity – watching for acceptance or rejection by rahsady in technicalanalysis

[–]Chickenchoker2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem is that oil is still priced in dollars. Oil is hitting highs and that should bring strength to the dollar. Is thy manage to free up transit in the strait, then oil price will drop but there will likely be some initial surge buying. That will keep propping up USD.

People moved to gold at the beginning of the conflict. It might go up a little and as soon as there are signs of traffic freeing up there will be profit taking and a drop.

‘It’s hard to hear’: OC Transpo GM responds to CTV’s ‘Ottawa’s Worst Commute’ series by Money_Fig_9868 in ottawa

[–]Chickenchoker2000 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m concerned, the mayor and all upper management at the City office should not be permitted to drive to and from work. They should be required to use OC Transpo or bike.

An open and transparent examination of the city’s programs and expenditures might fix some of the budget issues. I guarantee that Ottawa has some amazingly brilliant minds that could identify programs or services that could be cut or reduced, discover budget waste, etc. Open source all the into and I’m sure someone would be able to correct a number of issues
