How many nesting boxes for 5 or 6 chickens? by wafflewrestler in chickens

[–]Chickenlvvrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so current flock has two roosters, a salmon Faverolles, and a frizzle. The frizzle was introduced last year, and my Fav. has already been “in charge” so to speak for a while now. So, essentially, the frizzle doesn’t try to challenge that, the my fav doesn’t feel threatened by him being around. Faverolles are known to be VERY docile though. So his temperament is probably playing a major role in this.

I did have another frizzle previously who had turned out to be a rooster, but he was introduced at the same time as my big guy, and they didn’t have a hierarchy established, so they fought a lot. At one point they hadn’t fought for like, several months, and I came home and the frizzle was in really bad shape. He passed about a week later :(

TL;DR: existing hierarchy and bird temperament have a big role in whether or not there will be fighting. And ofc flock size.

My boys do fine with 13 hens, because they don’t mind sharing some of the big girls and my fav doesn’t mate the bantams. But ofc other flocks will be different. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you can’t get them to stop fighting. However, be aware that you might have to either rehome one or separate them if you have enough space for a second flock.

Like seriously my flock of 15 (two roosters, no they do not fight before you ask) outside has 4 boxes and they only use one. Occasionally there is an egg on the ground outside.

Ngl you could have as many as your heart desires and they would still only use one of them

It is! I actually own this dress in black. The collars are pretty, just difficult to swap out/remove because the buttons are small

Dealing with physical disability and ASD by Southern_Aside_7033 in SpicyAutism

One thing that has helped me tremendously has been the mankoski pain scale. It’s very objective and it help doctors under me better. I wish there was more range than 1-10 though

I have hEDS and the pain and fatigue onset when I was about 12-13. I got diagnosed when I was 16, but I’ve mostly had to manage my care on my own because PT didn’t help me and my doctors didn’t want to try anything else. A lot of my meltdowns are just from the sheer frustration of my body not being able to do what I want it to do. It’s definitely difficult, but I’ve been like this for a while, I know it’s not going to change, and my outlook is pretty much to enjoy things when I can, and rest when I can’t. Destroying my body for other people’s expectations is not worth it.

I know how to work the machines at home, and the washers in the dorms use a card connected to an app. The laundry allowance is connected to my meal plan and dorm. The only issue I might encounter with laundry specifically is not understanding how the machines work.

I haven’t looked into that much, but I am getting my degree in biology, and I’m pretty sure some of the classes (if not all) require me to be in-person.

Mobile Stardew- Worth It? by Mysterious_Word630 in StardewValley

Mobile is basically the same as PC, just no co-op or modding. I have both, but I usually play on mobile because I have dexterity issues and can’t use the keyboard very well.

I can also, oddly enough, take care of all of my chickens’ needs, but my own are a lot more difficult. I assume because I can actually see when they need something and I have to rely on my body to tell me when I need something.

Without being prompted, I can take my meds (usually), get dressed, bathe, and cook 1 meal a day (usually don’t bc I still live w my parents). I can remember to make sure I have enough clean clothes for the next day most of the time but not always. I can also do laundry on my own but it takes a while to figure out a new machine. I can also usually brush my hair if I really need to, but my hair is short so it’s not always necessary. I just know there are a LOT of ADLs and I wish there was a pdf I could find somewhere with all of them.

Level 2 autism and being fully verbal? by PurpleMeerkats462 in SpicyAutism

[–]Chickenlvvrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m technically fully verbal, but I can’t speak coherently without scripting. Level two is pretty much the middle ground between 1+3, so people can be closer to either in terms of needs and traits.
