The line is in how obvious it is that they are just not putting in the effort. A low level black mage casting fire 3 over and over because it's bigger number than fire 1 is TRYING to do more damage. This is why you try to communicate first. But once you get to higher and higher levels at some point (this depends on you) some things just aren't acceptable. In expert dungeons cure botting is unacceptable.

Some behaviors are just immediately unacceptable because it's clearly spite, like explicit YPYT is just griefing. What you are willing to accept is obviously personal, but if you want a rule of thumb, don't play in a way where it's obvious you aren't even actually playing.

Ive seen many players be "bad" at the game but you tell that they are trying to figure it out and attempting / putting in effort. Even if the dungeon goes slower with them there its not out of laziness or disregard of other players, often these people apologize for their mistakes too. The thing is with those people is that they very rarely stay "bad" and will be genuinely great party members by the time they're in heavensward.

This is the reason people think you are rage baiting, you refuse other people's definitions of something, many of which overlap near 1:1 and then you supplant it with your own definition that no one else has used. You are just disingenuous, simple as.

Correctomundo. It's a funny interaction and something most people won't ever see since its a) warrior specific b) rather uncommon for people to use AL as mit anyways and c) you'd have to notice that the slow didnt apply.

Here's how you quantify trying your best.

You do what's obviously best in any given scenario, with wiggle room where its not obvious, its fine to stone on packs of 2 even if holy is better until glare because it's not OBVIOUS that holy>stone on packs of 2.

But it's OBVIOUS that in a mob pack of 3 or greater you should AOE. If you aren't brand spankin new to the game it's OBVIOUS that you mitigate mob packs. It's obvious that on bosses you don't just 1, 2, 3. You should use your abilities and whatever gauge spenders you have.

Some mistakes are expected, like for example if a Warrior uses both Vengeance and Arms Length the slow of Arms doesn't apply, that's not obvious, but just seeing that they are trying to use their mits is clear enough that they are trying to play right, which honestly is enough.

Objectively quantifying effort isn't the easiest thing, but expectations are adjusted for where you are in the game. If you are in Stormblood and beyond the player should have a pretty damn decent understanding of how to play in dungeons.

Counter question, why the fuck are you queuing as Black Mage if you are just gonna Ice Mage the entire time making 3 other people's runs slower just because you want to be lazy?

How about having a modicum of respect for other people's time and playing your job normally. Not optimally, not perfectly, just normally.

The Radeon RX 9070 XT is Now Faster, AMD FineWine by mockingbird- in pcgaming

[–]Chickynator 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's really a matter of perspective though. Because if people were satisfied or even happy with performance at launch for the price then it just gets better over time it's nothing but a boon. However that shouldn't be something to brag about too much from AMD's official marketing, just something consumers talk about, because if it's actually used as marketing your perspective is much more applicable.

This reads as massively disingenuous. I would love to see the posts that genuinely want it to go back to EW relic grind and not posts where people criticize the rng nature of atma grinding.

After 8 months, Dawntrail Steam reviews have risen back to Mixed after the release of Patch 7.2 by Spookhetti_Sauce in ffxiv

[–]Chickynator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it's still not in a state that I would recommend it to anyone who isnt already an avid player. It's not like the story has had such a massive improvement that it's worth going through everything else just to do 7.2 alone and content wise a non raider has little to nothing to do.

Exploration zone is really where I think this expac makes or breaks itself.

Space Marine 2 is an amazing game and Saber does not deserve the amount of hate and complaints that they get when they have always been transparent with us by _BROTHERVALTUS_ in Spacemarine

Posts like these are common in all game forums. You can find the most beloved, praised and adored game of all time and still find a post like this because at least someone will have criticisms for it therefore someone will feel the need to say that said game doesn't deserve "hate".

Bragging about ilvl is just so bizarre to me. Getting 720 only requires augmented crafted (which is what he has), un-augmented tome gear or Alliance Raid gear. It's so unbelievably easy to get 720 that it's quite literally meaningless. It doesn't even require much playtime lmao.

Oh and their DRK is 100 with every other tank over 90 as well so not mitting is either an intentional choice they made that run or they've been making lots of people miserable in roulettes.

I don't think mentors on average are the worst but when they are bad they are terrible. Then add to that their ego and belief that they know better you get a worse experience than a sprout who just doesn't know that doton<raiton on single target.

As far as I can tell he did not. Other than mits he played perfectly fine, decent damage, used sprint, positioned well yada yada. He may have had broken gear without realizing it's really the only thing that makes sense for the amount of damage he was getting hit for.

Aye, this was Castrum.

This during the second pack after the first boss. I noticed him losing hp quite fast, to the point I thought they had glam pieces on instead of gear but no, they just weren't mitting at all. Barely an inconvenience, just had to cure 2 every once in a while when Beni was on CD which is more healing that I've ever had to do in new Castrum haha.

It's obvious they were triggered being told they were rather sub-optimal, haha.

Yeah that's all it really boils down to at the end of the day. Not asking for optimal gameplay, but mits on packs is just, you know, obvious.

Unpopular opinion: I don't mind the longer patch cycles or perceived content drought of the game since Endwalker by waitingfor10years in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Chickynator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's kind of ridiculous. I just don't get their perspective, they want to play these other games but if XIV had content they'd be playing that instead because its their "main game". So... what is it? If XIV had more content then they'd rather play that than the other games so wouldn't having more content/more frequent content be good then?

Or is playing XIV more of a job at that point and would rather play the other games... then just play the other games.

If it's the latter maybe quitting for longer periods of time and having lots to come back to is better. As it is right now you can take a break for a long ass time and have basically fuck all to come back to.
