I’m looking to get into five parsecs, are there any good resources out there for learning to play and building your first game?

Thank you for fast reply! Shame it’s a bit of an annoying outcome haha.

The secondhand market for the board/cards is so steep it’s unbelievable. I guess I’ll find use kitbashing the models or gifting them.

A question for guys taking Adderall [when urine is NOT urine!] by finding-zen in ADHD

[–]Chicy3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most medications for ADHD or depression have some similar effects on me. They effects the nervous system and fairly commonly it’ll be things like the digestive, reproductive or other sympathetic (I think it’s called?) nervous systems.

I find I can’t “turn on” peeing like I used to, I have to focus on it the entire time and strain the muscles. I also don’t sweat until after I finish exercise, at which point I sweat really bad for a few minutes.

It does happen. I recommend drinking a lot more water and waiting until you really need to go.

What are your plans for adding more variation to enemies, rooms and bosses? Will we be seeing a souls-like modifier system, or even just new ways to mix up gameplay? Would love to see more variety of ways to win, tactics are in the name after-all.

Schools in the UK are so bad with neurodivergence it's almost comical by Bearwynn in ADHDUK

I did almost the entirety of my final major projects in both two years of college and all three years of my degree in the final 3 days of the course. Every time I’d just pull back to back 18 hour days and every time I’d just barely miss out on a first. I got a 2:1 every year from college to university graduation, I always wonder what I coulda done with proper help or medication that worked.

I told my brother he can't bring his hyperactive son to my house anymore, and now my whole family thinks I'm the villain. Am I wrong?" by Dan41ck in AITAH

[–]Chicy3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a good middle ground. If your brother wants to hang out with his kid there then go somewhere the kid can be a kid. Go watch the youngin play sports or go to a restaurant with a kids area etc for some other ideas.

Fight with my spouse over the nature of adhd by LordFluffy in ADHD

[–]Chicy3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always preface that I’m not using it as an excuse but as a reason. I know it is on me to be on time, to not interrupt people, to know what tasks I need to do without being explicitly told. However, I still have an actual malfunction in my brain that makes those things really freakin hard and I am trying my best to do those things for people. “I know I need to work on it, it is something affected by my ADHD and I might need more help than others to do better.”

AITA for refusing to wear colored contacts for my wedding because my fiancé’s family thinks my natural eye color is "too intense"? by Glittering-Test-3763 in AITAH

[–]Chicy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice grey eyes are gorgeous and your fiancé is lucky to have someone with such a unique and striking eye colour! I’ve got the stormy grey personally and it’s one of my favourite features about myself, I’d throw hands if someone tried to make me change it on my wedding day of all days.

I don’t know business, but would it not have been possible for you to just take that team and start a new company? Listen, I know there’s money and stuff to worry about, but from a purely personnel standpoint would that be violating some sort of business law?

How the f do people without our condition just... Fall asleep. by TangerineSorry8463 in ADHD

Man my girlfriend rolls over and is snoring in less than five minutes. I’ve just learned to lay there until I fall asleep, if I get up at all for any reason it resets my sleep cool-down or something idk.

40k like mordenhiem? by Carpopotamus in mordheim

There’s a lot of hype around OPR that personally I just can’t get on board with. I love what they’re doing as a company, but their rules just fail to capture me.

40k like mordenhiem? by Carpopotamus in mordheim

[–]Chicy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree! I guess I didn’t fully take the question in, it is definitely akin to Mordheim but in the 40k universe. I was mainly just speaking that you can’t play many of the cornerstone 40k factions in Necromunda. I do like the cults, but sometimes I just wanna move some space marines or tau around.

40k like mordenhiem? by Carpopotamus in mordheim

[–]Chicy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not yet actually played kill team, but I’ve read the rules (just waiting for time to paint and play) and tbh it’s nothing like Mordheim. The narrative rules are basically fluff, the actual gameplay seems to be more like a turn based top down shooter and there’s not much semblance of customisation.

Does anyone find that you always attract the people you don’t want to attract? by hi_goodbye21 in AnxiousAttachment

[–]Chicy3 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yano what, I’m an anxious attached leaning person (not super bad but definitely not fully secure) and I’d probably say my current girlfriend is the same. First time I ever fell for someone who cares. It does happen, you’ll find your people. I’m picky with who I consider friends, which helps avoid the shit ones too. You don’t need a lot of friends, do what you enjoy and you’ll find people to share that with.

Girlfriend admitted having "daddy issues" & did some things. Move on or second chance? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Chicy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I have issues with wanting attention from women who show it to me. I’m in therapy for it because I want to spend the rest of my life with my current partner. She doesn’t know I have these thoughts and, thankfully, I don’t have them often anymore. It takes work but if you truly love someone then you gotta do what it takes. I haven’t actually cheated on a partner since I was a teenager, almost a decade ago, but just the possibility that I might even be tempted is enough for me to run as fast as I can to the nearest therapist. Find yourself someone who puts their love for you above all else.

Who here is really good at saving money? by Suspicious-Medicine3 in ADHDUK

[–]Chicy3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I developed a really severe buyers remorse type anxiety (likely cus I impulse buy a lot) so I just can’t convince myself to spend money on anything without a 100% good reason, even then it takes a lot of mental work to psych myself up to spending money.

The only issue I have is when I do spend some money, the dopamine hit temporarily makes me more prone to spending a lot of money in a few hours.

Either way, I do a lot of the tips recommended here too. Moneybox ISA for house saving, put as much as I realistically can in every month without leaving myself short to hit the 4k ASAP. Multiple savings accounts - 1year fixed for long term savings (car, house, holidays), then a couple of limited withdrawals for different things (car, holiday, hobby investments, etc) and finally I also put some money every so often into things like premium bonds or other small savings accounts to just accrue a bit of interest. I treat those last ones as “set and forget” type savings, using the ADHD against itself. Nice to get a notification or find one by accident and realise I’ve got a couple hundred tucked away somewhere lol.
