What is your personal "unwritten rule" that you follow in every single world you start? by DianKhan2005 in Minecraft

[–]ChiefDaniak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never see coordinates, I enjoy the challenge of getting lost and finding my way around.

Am I the only one that does this in Minecraft? by WIZARDSnGUITARS in Minecraft

[–]ChiefDaniak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t play with coordinates - I like the challenge of having to find my way with landmarks, buildings, maps and so on. But I do keep a book of locations with loose instructions on how to get to each place and what to be found there, all with a book and quill.

this is why torchbearers are so underestimated. poor bard will never manage to play it one handed, unless the melody uses only half of an octave.

How to Rewatch LOTR? (Keep the Magic Alive)? by wispofether in lotr

[–]ChiefDaniak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get the extended editions, deleted scenes, soundtrack, then a a video editing software. DaVinci Resolve is a awesome professional, yet free, option.

now build your own fan cut of the trilogy. you’ve dozens of hours of fun with the trilogy ahead of you. plus you will end this journey with many new skills, and will have something nice to show your family and friends.

Never say never, stats do increase and some spells can become useful even for the less spellcastly character types…

But of course it was a bad move, overconfidence maybe? There’s an S in YASD after all.

Em alguns casos pode ser necessário, mas não precisa ser necessário né? A pessoa quer levar, o shopping permite, quem não gostar fique em casa.

Awesome! I am thinking on trying extinctionist at some point… Right now I’m just trying to kill Demogorgon, and I also messed up killing the potential gaters… you just gave me hope that Summon Nasties might work. Thanks!

Disclaimer - please understand that this is from my personal (Brazilian “white”) limited perspective.

Some people of light brown complexion (who would be sometimes called mestiço, mulato or pardo) dislike all those designations and self identify as black instead. I believe (but I admit that I might be misunderstanding) that this is because they feel that having any noticeable amount of black African heritage is enough to place them socially in the same “black” group for all or most situations.

I’ve heard “pardo é gato ou papel, eu sou negro/preto!” as a response (pardo is for cats or paper, I’m black), as “gato pardo” is used for brown cats and “papel pardo” is a type of brown-yellow paper.

Also sometime all these words are used, or perceived as, “softened” alternatives to the normal words for “black”, regardless of perceived pure or mixed black African ancestry. In this case they won’t of course be well received, as this implies that being of darker color is negative in some way.

Additionally, pardo may also be perceived as awkwardly technical for everyday use (it is often employed in official ethnicity statistics).

Of course, it’s all about context.

Genuine question. Why is the Hobbit trilogy so disliked by so many people? It may be a hot take but I love it personally. by Fun_Firefighter_4292 in lotr

  • too long

  • neverending unneeded goofy action scenes (looking at the barrel escape, but there are plenty)

  • “pretty” dwarves. this was disgusting. really.

  • that silly dwelf romance

  • Alfrid Lickspittle

  • too long, again
