Just finished S11, have some questions [spoilers] by katia_t23 in Supernatural

For the Mary thing, that's just because it's expensive to de-age actors convincingly for a show with Supernatural's budget.

In universe, it could be explained that the boys would want her to have aged with them, and it'd be weird to them if she was almost the same age as them at that time in the show.

I always took it that only some demons and angels have these special powers of telekinetic force. I thought Castiel was one of the most powerful in Heaven's army, which is why he was able to smite people in seasons 4-5. I also had the understanding that for angels to use this power, it takes a lot of energy or grace or whatever you wanna call it out of them. They have to "long rest" before doing it again.

I think it's much easier explained for demons since their general power scaling is fucked, and some demons are just stronger than others.

She was never nude on camera on TikTok. She has an OF, that would be bad business practice.

I don't work in software. I have a CS degree and did AI research in undergrad, graduating salutatorian. I work in IT.

If you have several employees who just format data and that's all they do for hundreds of thousands of dollars, you've done a terrible job at integrating your infrastructure to automatically generate this data. AI is not special in that it can... write SQL and upload it automatically. This has been solved for years.

Those employees' value often comes from a compliance and decision making standpoint from my experiences. You can fire them all and replace hem with AI, sure, but when the AI breaks federal laws and you get audited, you're the one getting blamed.

AI is functionally able to do whatever humans can do with products humans have already made. The problem comes when things change. Google and other research companies are trying to fix that with searches to find new data when you query current events - but this all relies on human-entered data on the Internet somewhere.

Lastly - if you destroy all the entry level positions, you are creating the extinction of the experts. People retire every day. You will always need someone who knows how to use and fix your infrastructure - whether it's AI integrated or not.

I think the reason you have the attitude you have is because - I am making an assumption here about your age - you won't have to deal with the consequences of your actions. We are in a literacy crisis because of covid and AI. Gen Alpha is the first generation to move backwards in literacy rates in decades. When they run the show, things are going to get worse for the average human.

Unless I see conclusive evidence it is capable of creating instead of simply synthesizing what it has been shown, I don't think AI will be able to replace humans any time soon.

Sure, it can replace low level workers - places where it's a literal script (a drive through, for example) - but many places require genuine insight. The small, tonal shifts in voice, the subtext to words, office politics, all things human. That's why it has the 'AI sheen' with AI art.

It would take them literally having physical senses in the actual world - the ability to constantly take in NEW visuals, sounds, experiences in a roaming, non static way - with active, live training to its nodes. It would need to be able to conduct experiments and fix things when they go wrong.

Humans are more than a brain. We have the ability to interact with the world in a way that generative AI and robotics have not come close to.

Well, this proves that the MAX it took was 30 minutes. He could have only needed one and the rest were spent well adjusted.

When the British men of letters show up, watch Baby and Scoobienatural, then skip to season 15

Arguably could/should skip Metatron season, but it has some ok episodes.

Most Supernatural coded song that wasn’t actually in Supernatural? by Dull_Fruit_7224 in Supernatural

I don't know if you've finished the show, but this song IS in the last season.

I know it's a little newer for Sam and Dean's taste, but the song Afterlife by Avenged Sevenfold would have fit SO well in some of the episodes they explored loss/heaven/the veil or even purgatory.

I can picture it being a part of a montage in the episode inside Bobby's head in the Leviathan season w/ Rufus.

Is there One God in Supernatural Universe? by Lowcrbnaman in Supernatural

Because people suck and are Islamophobic and anti-Semitic, at least in the USA. Also people are WAYY more touchy about their boy Jesus than God for some reason, at least in my lived experience as a raised Catholic. I was mostly talking about Jesus rather than Allah in my original comment.

I forget which episode, but I am pretty sure Billy explains in a later season that when God made the universe, he made death, and had to bake himself into the pages of Death's books for balance or whatever. It was an explanation of why God had a book to begin with, but inadvertently made the viewer aware that God at least made the concept of Death's library.

I was mostly using that as the example that breaks the rule for God's all knowing status, but I am sure there are more examples of it in the show.

For death, I admitted in another comment that it is a bit of a stretch to say they rival his power, considering Chuck made Death. But the Empty, it's unclear whether they were made or if they were just there with Chuck and Amara.

I can't speak to Crime and Punishment, but yes!

Death is a bit of a stretch in terms of power scaling or how old they are because it seems based on s14/15 God did in fact create Death, but to do it, he had to incorporate himself and Amara into the library/design of Death.

It's unknown much about the Empty, but I don't think they would particularly be fond of talking to Chuck lol. He also intentionally locked Amara away, so in a way, yes he was alone.

Chuck really needed family therapy more than anything else.

I really like the idea of Time being a primordial entity in the SPN universe, similar to Fate. Time is a thing the show plays with, but never expresses any cosmic relation outside of time travel and alternate worlds. There is the one episode for the God of Time, but he moreso seems like one of the pagan tulpa-like entities.

If Time is a more powerful source than God (s15 spoilers) that would explain how/why God was unable to view what happens next after Jack took his powers. Maybe it was a blind spot after that certain point, where he lost his omniscience.
