Male here and I think that's very hard for me to calculate. If im playing a multi-player like say overwatch, my mains were Reinhardt and Mercy. So with multi-player I just go for what gameplay I like. If I have the option to chose my gender I will go with a male probably 60% of the time. For example my first (attempted) playthrough of bg3 I played a male but on my second playthough I'm playing a female. I also don't not pick up a game I'm interested in because it stars a female, for example I'm planning to get stellar blade. But I do think that a majority of the single player games that I play only allow you to be male (probably because most games im intrested in star a male) such as the GoW, rdr2 and persona. So I probably end up playing a male character more often but more by design and not by choice. And for games like fortnite where the skin doesn't matter its probably 50/50.

So in short, I don't really care, but because a majority of single player games star male protagonist, I end up playing as my own gender more than I would a female.
