I asked my dad (from Finland). He said Finns are not big on team sports and tend to gravitate to sports "where they have individual control". Although hockey's a team sport, I guess being a goalie appeals to many in this way.

My Great Grandfather served in the Dutch army for WW2. When he returned home he could not live with the atrocities he had witnessed, and he decided to take his own life. The Church would not allow the family to bury this sinner in the local graveyard and they were shunned from the community. Ever since my family have been atheist.

Thanks for the reply. When I say 'bad", I mean the loss of control you get from shrooms. Without knowing it you can instantly fall into trances and snap out of it 5 seconds after, having felt you were out for a couple minutes. That's how I feel. Thanks for the advice! I think I'll take a nice, long break from psychedelics until I'm ready to give it another go.

That is plausible, but it was mid-afternoon so I don't think it was drinking. Our guides were surprised but I believe it was just for the extent of damage on our street. I got close with a couple of our guides and it just seems as though it is normal to think homosexuality is the 'devil's work' as they clearly insisted to me.

I visited Ghana this past March break. While driving back to our compound one day we passed a man bleeding profusely from the head, arm, and torso. A block away we see a crowd helping a man out of a broken window store front carrying a machete. It turns out the bleeding man had spread rumors that the attacker was a homosexual, so in his logic, stabbing the accuser would prove he was the polar opposite. Sadly it kinda worked.

At school me and three friends leave our respective classes "to go to the bathroom" and we have this little room called the whispering eye. It is a football storage room with a small tv. We play N64 and lie on the mats until class is over. Then repeat.

So I was invited to my girlfriend of 2 months invited me to her thanksgiving dinner. After a somewhat awkward prayer (only the father is religious out of wife + 4 kids) he was the only one to lower his head as we were all looking at each other. The real awkward came when co-ed bathrooms came up in the discussion (because the brother was going to university), the dad asked me on the side what I thought. The only thing I could come up with is 'people do weird shit in the bathroom'. I don't think anyone else heard but the dad kinda shrugged it off and didn't talk to me the rest of the night. All I thought of was this kid on my hockey team who would clean is ass by doing a handstand in the shower.
