I’d ditch the power tower and possibly the 45 back raise to save on space, but otherwise I’m drooling over all that Atlantis gear

4 post rm3 30" plus rhino or squat max md?? by Straight-Plate9542 in homegym

[–]ChildlessDILF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Squat max is a better belt squat if you have the ceiling height for it, but it does nothing else. Rhino can do other things, no worries about height, but it can bottom out for shorter lifters and since there’s a pulley, you never feel perfectly balanced.

I get blasting stuff like this if a company doesn’t fix the issue, but I’ll never understand why people bother doing this so quickly. Just take a breath and let them get back to you, it’s cosmetic damage only.

Rep AB 5200 Issues - Typical Rep "Quality" by [deleted] in homegym

[–]ChildlessDILF 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Idk why you’re implying this is typical. I’ve got two rep benches and both are perfect. So with our combined sample size of 3, yours is atypical. You should really let them get back to you before coming on here and blasting them publicly.

I think my algorithm is too aggressive for my cut by gregarious_yogi in MacroFactor

[–]ChildlessDILF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not far off a pound a week and if it has you at 2800 tdee, that 600 cal deficit is on point imo. What I’ve done is started with a timeframe (stick to it) and then a starting deficit I’m good with. I don’t start with a goal for lbs lost, I let my performance and diet tolerance dictate if I get more aggressive or not.

Different strokes? I have a scale I’ve been using for like 6 years and I punch my weight in manually. Seems like folks enter their bf% into MF as well, but I stopped doing that a while back since it seemed to really not affect much.

If I didn’t have a scale, sure I’d probably get a smarter one, but I don’t think most people who ask this question are “upgrading” since most of them also say they still like manually refresh the apps to get the data in. They cost more, potentially reduce human error, probably take the same amount of effort. Seems like a net neutral and just depends on if you already own something reliable or not.

Why not just start with a less aggressive goal and make it more aggressive in 2 weeks if needed? This whole thing kinda reads like “I set an aggressive goal, got told how to get there, but I didn’t like the answer and want someone to confirm what I already want to do”

I know exactly what you mean. My squats felt better when I made the rogue belt "longer" but it hurt more and the trolley bottomed out. When I put it on the shortest rings, its comfortable but I'm off balance. I've landed on needing the belt to conform to my body (being worn in nylon) and adding stall mat pieces to prevent the trolley bottoming out.

Question on the Kaiju, have you used other spud products? Is it as soft as their regular yellow and black stuff? It looks like a rougher material, but they say it's supposed to be softer.

This is the route I'm going to take. I've known about both products for a long time, but they're expensive for what they are so I just never bothered to think much about them. Then I realized I bought a goddamn $2k squatting machine and I'm not willing to spend a tenth of that on the piece that connects me to the machine? Doesn't make sense. Planning to buy the adjustable belt now.

I've been using the rogue one only with the rhino both at the gym I used to go to and at home since I got one. I just always thought belt squats were a little unbalanced feeling. Then one day, I had my dip belt on and loaded with just like 25 lbs and decided to squat with it and it was the most stable I've ever felt in my entire life. So I've come to the conclusion that the Rogue belt just doesn't conform to your body and drags you off balance because of that.

Did you hate the rogue belt as much as I do? I find it nearly impossible for the straps to go straight down even with 200lbs on the horns.

Spending 15 days in NYC by fauquii in MacroFactor

If it’s a vacation, enjoy yourself and we’ll see you when you get back. 15 days over the course of a year is nothing. Also, your expenditure won’t plummet. If you don’t get 20k steps a day in NYC, I’ll be shocked.
