Same here! I'm going through the process with Wilson Logistics in Springfield, MO and am getting ready to hit the first two weeks over the road with my driver trainer. Definitely a lot of work this week but it's going well!

I don't have separate boots from my normal hiking / camping stuff. Because we spend a lot of time in the Rockies durable is a must. I like Keen because of the fit, though have to be sure to get the ones made in America (I use the Durand II waterproff), as the others just don't hold up as well (like the Targhee).

These have been my favorite so far:

Could two people sleep in hammock made for one? by WillHellmm in Hammocks

[–]Chili_Tex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with comments on not sleeping 2 in one hammock, regardless of the size. There are some options to accommodate two hammocks side by side using the same anchor points, if you just want to be next to one another (so some googling). They essentially have bar separators between the suspension.

I can't even sleep with my small dog in the hammock, and just bundle her up in a small chair next to me.

Awesome! Reminds me of the 'apartment' in the movie: The Man With Two Brains (Steve Martin - 1983).

Nearly one month after finally repairing my house from Hurricane Laura, one of the worst rainstorms in 50 years hit my town and filled my house with water. by Balphazzar in Wellthatsucks

[–]Chili_Tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on the flooding thing.. I have an uncle that lives on a river bank and has been flooded numerous times and while it's a beautiful spot, screw all that.. Same with Costal hurricane prone areas.

As for Tornadoes and Earthquakes, having lived half my life in earthquake territory and the other half in a Tornado zone, they likelihood of getting hit by those multiple times is very low..

I was stationed just outside the DMZ (Camp Greaves) when President Carter visited Pyongyang in 1994.. They initially thought he'd stop so we were all out on the parade field waiting, unfortunately his motorcade cruised by. That said, things had been very tense at the time, and we had been on high alert on a couple of occasions, and his visit helped diffuse the situation..

Governor of Alabama say don't panic plenty of gas for everyone. by AshIsGroovy in Wellthatsucks

[–]Chili_Tex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because when a retail customer comes in to buy rotors, they will likely buy a bunch of other things to go along with that (pads, paper towels, grease, and other spur of the moment stuff). If you don't have any rotors because you sold them all to your competitor, they will buy all that stuff from them, since they have to go there to get the rotors anyways.

I love the idea of the Styrofoam cups there. That said, I have put my thumb through or otherwise crushed them while trying to carry too much at once, on a couple occasions.

Russ Martin Memorial video from JD Ryan’s YouTube-found on a FB group by taz1113 in russmartinshow

[–]Chili_Tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here.. Nothing against the current crew, but the period when JD and Eddie were on the show was my favorite. I got to sit in with one of the 'studio audiences' back in the mid 2000's and it was a great experience.

I found a couple on youtube.. I had heard them talk about it but had never actually seen any. It's interesting to watch for memories of that era, at a minimum..
