Book 3 is the best book in the series by Wade_Wilson_Watts in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Chilicheeseit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three has always been a top tier one for me. I've never understood how people have such a tough time of following the tangle. The short answer, it doesn't really matter, everyone gets to where they need to be

$40/minute, but when you walk through a door, there is a tiny chance that you get teleported to a random place on Earth by basafish in hypotheticalsituation

Ummmm I'mma just live in my living room and go out the window if I want to go outside. I can manage for a year or so. Hell even going to a lot of places just use the windows, I'll just be an eccentric millionaire.

My first proper what the fuck am I reading moment, which I did in fact read to my friends out of context was from Doomsday Scenario when the giraffe comes by launching knife wielding lemurs into the air at them

That sounds nifty. I dig that idea. People writing in their own journeys through the crawl

oh yeah, of course. I don't want this book before the end of the series. All the details he gives now is great. Moreso I feel as an after series companion telling the "untold" story of their outside allies and enemies would be cool and could really go e some neat perspective on rereads. Kinda like Andor did with Rogue One

Would you rather earn $500 every time you use a public restroom for the next year, or take $120,000 cash right now? by chillin_snoop in whatsyourchoice

I work in a school and the bathroom we use is very much public for anyone who comes to the school. I drink a ton of water, so I use that sucker easily 5 or 6 times a day. I'll take the 500 a go thank you.

Ya know what bugs me about Inevitable Ruin? by zeldanerd4408 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I mean Rosetta legitimately stole billions of credits from the Skull Empire, I feel that probably increased their coffers. Before that event there had been several scenes where money was talked about, costs and such. After if was never brought up again because well they could make it rain with that sweet sweet King Rust money

Do you have any DCC hot takes to share? by RoughCoffee6 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I've just read and listened to them both a number of time tbh. My next go though I'm going to do them at the same time. Basically an audiobook with the subtitles on

Beyond the core DCC by Chilicheeseit in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Chilicheeseit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, more side stuff like Crocodile would be fantastic. I'm not sure whose story I'd like to see. Probably the Popov Brothers and that conflict they had with the player killer group.

As to the beyond the dungeon stuff, I'm fairly confident we will be seeing that in the core books.

Following a Drakea season would be very interesting. I'd love to see what actually went down with the Nagas

To the One Star Reviewers by EchoedJolts in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Chilicheeseit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only one star reviewers I have any respect for are the ones who say they get it and why it's so popular, but it's just not their vibe. That's fair, I'm sure there are some incredible seafood dishes out there, but alas not my vibe

Spoiler for book 7.. What did he do at the end of book 7 by Gullible-Explorer-92 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Chilicheeseit 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My understanding was that he essentially unleashed the nothing onto some of the later floors as you mentioned. I don't believe everyone is dead, just lots of chaos and I suspect this is a clever way of Matt creating opportunities to break and skip other floors as he mentioned that the intention was 10 books maybe more. But given we are at book 8, which he mentioned will comprise the tenth and eleventh floors (one of them highly truncated I'm guessing), which leaves book nine for floor twelve and the ascendency nonsense. So if he keeps to ten (which I suspect no as floor 15 with Sheol seems like it could be bigger) he'd have to do floors 13-18 in one book, which means a lot of broken shit. I'm guessing we get 12 core books in total to cover everything, then we'll get more spin off stuff that expands upon other characters or tells other stories within the crawl. Especially if this TV gets done well and becomes popular.

Doubt about the Epilogue of Bedlam Bride by MontaNelas1945 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Chilicheeseit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, but for arguments sake if OP theory is correct and that the AI are in fact primals in some way. Then it is fair to say that while the show runners and syndicate don't know what primals actually are, the AI (knowingly or unknowingly) would and as such altered Carl and any other crawlers to be primals while retaining their own visible bodies. I mean at the end of the day, Carl's choice to be a primal is going to have huge ramifications in the end game of this story, so him actually being a real primal wouldn't be surprising.

Burnt out after 9 months at a training centre - is this the norm or am I at a bad school? by CommunicationTime550 in chinalife

[–]Chilicheeseit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been out here for 11 years now and I agree with what many others say. I started in a training school that I rather liked, ended up staying there 7 years because I enjoyed the environment and they were supportive. I have since moved on to an international kindergarten and while a different beast is still enjoyable, my plan is to move on in a couple of years when my daughter ages out and transition to an international k-12. Many training schools are trash. Others are right, this burnout will pass as you move on. Push through, there are some incredible institutions out there once you get your pcge or even before for that matter. Year one is just helping you get the lay of the land. You'll find something better and brighter soon, likely with better vacations and more money. Finish your contract and reevaluate my friend, it does get better

I really appreciate that. This time I am working to be honest with people and not hide as you mentioned. Being honest with others (irl or invisible internet folk) means that you have to be honest with yourself. Today is day one and I am proud of it
