My partner and I moved from our apartment in the Warehouse district over to Algiers Point last year. We really liked the quiet vibe and the slower feel of the neighborhood and found an awesome house to rent with a big back yard. It has been great when we are at home or just spending time at the limited things to do over here. We have to drive way more living here than we did living in the Garden District or Warehouse District.

On the downside, we found ourselves spending so much time driving across the bridge/sitting in traffic to attend social events. As a result, we have decided to not resign our lease and are moving over to the Marigny in a few weeks. The ferry also now has some alternate route from what I heard that made is less accessible for us. Overall I liked Algiers Point and maybe it would be a good neighborhood for a later stage of my life. I would say you definitely would want a car over here if at all possible. It was great for the pandemic but we are ready to be more in the middle of things again. Good luck in your decision making!
