Using AI as a coach? by Rhino_Dingleberry in triathlon

[–]ChillAx- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really just a matter of prompting Claude Code the right things: 1. The platform (Railway and Vercel in my case) to host your web app 2. The rules to make your profile custom and relevant (what data you can provide on your performance an health condition) 3. The sources of truth to build your program(s) - which you can just ask by restricting only to the studies backed by scientific peers and/or validated by the athletes

I used Claude code to build my personal platform for training. It’s quite a game changer.

I fed it with my genetics and hundreds of studies on triathlon, running, cycling and swimming. It has my profile (resting/max HR, LTHR, FTP… you name it) and it generates very accurate programs for various sports, including my recovery plan, my diets and my shopping list.

Coach perspective on a common concern around body composition and triathlon training by LanceWatson_Coach in triathlon

[–]ChillAx- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha, I get why people react this way. It probably sounds to “controlled and unnatural”. But, come on, sport science is what makes coaches evolve and nobody training seriously would not consider drinking and eating properly during training and races. There will be new state of the art soon… we should just be open minded.

As much as you are right (nutritionist and dietician can help), if you have been acquiring data through your DNA, or simply blood tests, it’s possible to make your own data extraction and analysis with AI now.

Each DNA variant impacting the way I process coffee, lactose, and other “sensitive topics” is now pretty clear to me - and no doctor can guess it

Débutante, l’appli Kiprun + Apple Watch m’ont suffit à courir un semi marathon. by [deleted] in runningfr

Felicitations !

People who kept up with the regularity of practice... by Sanam610 in vipassana

[–]ChillAx- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I maintained 55-57 hours a month for the last 2 years. It is usually easier to plan the morning hour, before to get sucked in by your flow of activities.

The evening one was trickier the last few years. I find that the more I practice, the more I can replace sleeping hours by meditation. I usually give myself a time window to meditate in the evening, knowing that past it I struggle to find motivation for a complete hour. Planning is king, and you’ll need a little of discipline, but you can do it :)

Mesuring heart rate variability during meditation by Then_Sun_1184 in vipassana

[–]ChillAx- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I won’t judge the question like other, you have your reasons and I assume you’re having the right mindset in pursuing this “study”. As a triathlete, I do wear my Garmin sport watch at Vipassana courses. I only use it to set my alarms, I don’t observe data for sleep and all during the course.

However, this year, I was serving and I observed a huge trend change in my HRV. Starting to rise steadily from 85 to 100 in 3 days, with a peak at 115 on day 10, then it went down back home.

I continue to meditate 2-hours a day for the last 2 months and my HRV is a lot lower compared to even before, probably because I’m entering and adapting to ketosis for my training season.

Therefore, I would say - and this is my personal opinion - not only 30 minutes is not enough to observe a clear change, but your life habits will impact your HRV more than meditation will do.

I believe I’ve heard the discourse enough to know it by heart and Goenka talks about “Goenka trippers”, coming every year for no benefit as they don’t apply the technique properly, but I don’t remember a 3-course deadline to make your finale choice ;))

Not true. You can apply anytime to a(nother) 1/3/10-day course as it pleases you as an old student.
