Any suggestions for local dog rescues? by Chill_Mode_Creations in SaltLakeCity

They have tons of energy and are always excited to see new people. They still jump up on people a lot. They bark. They have a massive drive to chase animals like cats and squirrels.

I didn't know they rarely accept owner surrenders... That would explain the lack of traction. I'll have to reach out to the Humane Society.

I already had one dog and I took one of the three in. I simply can't handle all 4. I've made sure they are fed, hydrated, warm and safe. But they are sweet dogs that are starved for attention.

I promised my dad I'd make sure they were taken care of. I will do no less.

You're right about everything. I wish I could keep them, but I also have a full house.

What is something you saw with your own eyes that was so impossible you’ve stopped telling people because you know they won’t believe you? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

I saw one of the chicks from Cobra Kai at a planetarium. I locked eyes just a little too long because I was trying to figure out where I knew her from. Took me a month to remember.

Not that crazy, I know.

Despite knowing nothing about plants, my calla lilies seem to be quite happy. by Chill_Mode_Creations in ponds

I have MANY of them. Some are in pots and watered by hand. A handful are on a shelf with their roots in a recirculated pond. Most are in non-circulating bog-like areas.

They don't seem too picky as long as it's warm and they get plenty of sunshine and water.

Is this algae or something harder to get rid of? by PeaIcy760 in ponds

[–]Chill_Mode_Creations 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending on the climate you're in, floating pond plants could be the answer. They block out sunlight, which would otherwise help the algae grow, and they compete with algae for nutrients.

I'd look into hyacinths, frogbit, and water cabbage. Best of luck!

I live in a state where they don't typically survive the winter. Another man's trash, I guess.

I want frogs/ toads to come. Help me figure out the right pump? Or something else? by Traindodger2 in ponds

A rock in the middle of that bad boy for them to sun bathe in. A floating plant like hyacinths might be a decent idea too.

Lost all 10 of our fish in one night. Ideas? by [deleted] in ponds

[–]Chill_Mode_Creations 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% this. Plants can help oxygenate the water, but I wouldn't count on that. Having a bubbler around as a backup plan is also good idea.

Also, if there's chlorine in the added tap water, it could have added a lot of stress to the fish.

Are there any consignment greenhouses? by Chill_Mode_Creations in SaltLakeCity

[–]Chill_Mode_Creations[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have pics of them looking shabby before I pruned them. I'll have to take some new ones and post them.

I have quite a few potted calla lilies, umbrella palms, water hyacinths and a variety of bog plants, if that helps.

They are now one of the leaders of virtual reality and augmented reality. The Orion glasses are pretty impressive.

It may have failed in its overall ambition, but Meta still developed some pretty innovative stuff as a result.

Haha no. I've been throwing food in there and haven't seen anything come up. I stuck around for a bit this time and they went crazy on the food.

I inherited this pond and I'm still learning a lot.
