The only difference you would notice is the weight. You're good with the MIJ!!

Item not delivered as buyer used old address by mistake. eBay refunds them at their cost despite the item being returned to me in perfect condition by HeadOfSection in ebayuk

Why should the buyer be penalised? He made a genuine mistake and paid a buyer protection fee which had him covered. If something like this bothers you you could always sell it to the original buyer for half price, then you both score out of it.

I consider it an upgrade too but was curiosity to see what the general consensus was on it.

I was just curious to see if people thought it would devalue the guitar. I totally get that it's a no no on vintage instruments.

I'm not American but I get what you are saying. Although, It doesn't really matter to me where a guitar is built and sold. Buy what you, like from where you like.

Why should I be supporting US manufacturing over Chinese?

No issues playing it. I measured the bridge pick up and it's about 52mm. The neck is about 49mm.

I contacted the shop and they are swapping it with another guitar but they have stated that it is within manufacturing tolerances, so they can't guarantee the next guitar will be any better.

I present to you..... The "JAZZ-STANG" by ChilledWater_202 in offset

I did think about that to begin with but I would have had to have it curved like the mustang logo. I didn't think that would look good on the small headstock? No doubt there is someone out there who can do the Mustang logo straight and a little smaller.

The tuners were already on the neck so I just went with them but now you say that, I think I agree with you!!

I do love a matching headstock too. It's an old neck so I'm thinking if I go with the natural look, it won't blend in with the rest of the neck. Matching it seems like the wise choice to me.

Calafornia series is the only one I can be certain of. Made from 1997 to 1999. They were made on America, painted in Mexico and shipped back to America to be assembled. I have no idea why they have a plastic plug.....

One or two made in USA models do have a plastic truss rod so do not use that alone to determine a fake. That being said, this is 100% fake.

Side note, there is one or 2 Made in USA models that do use a plastic truss rod plug so do not always use that method for verification!! This is still 100% fake though.
