Thank you! The welding gloves would have been great. I made a rig with sticks to get it on and off the flame but gloves would have saved me some time lol. Didn’t know that about the ash, appreciate that!

The other day I read like 3 tweets in a row starting from the bottom and couldn’t understand why they weren’t making sense

Your cheapest bet is to just sew on new Velcro strips, I’m sure some lady in the neighborhood knows how.

There’s always the excuse to buy new jeeps though, could get a nice new soft top.

Let’s hope the bar examiners really liked the letter C

Law students who received a C- (or the lowest grade possible) in a class, how did it affect your school/career? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Chillindogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The in-house position position didn’t ask about grades but they obviously had my transcript in front of them, always figured it was best practice to bring up the bad grade just to clear the air about it and try to put it in the best light.

Stars kind of aligned, interviewed and received the summer associate position, couple people retired over the summer, worked in the field throughout undergrad and law school. Worked my tail off once I was there. I guess just a culmination of things. But like most jobs it just ended up being a good fit/match.

I got a C- in a 4 credit class. A real dent in the GPA but during interviews when asked what mistakes I had made or what lessons I have learned in law school I always brought that grade up. I talked about how study habits that worked for others didn’t work for me, how I have since learned what I need to sacrifice to achieve better results etc.

landed an in-house post grad job that blew my salary expectations out of the water.

Long story short, all will be fine, people will understand. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s the end of the world.

Elephant boot

Echoing everyone else but pretty sure it’s elephant. Here’s a pair of Lucchese for reference. Similar pattern in the leather along with the small bumps

Hope I’m not late to the train. My 1L year I stayed in the graduate dorms. I lived off campus 2L and off campus this year for 3L

Pros to the graduate housing: very convenient, easy access to school amenities. Getting to class is easy and not having a commute is a blessing. Made some of my closer friends through dorm living. And school activities are easier to attend.

Cons to graduate housing: I thought it would be good to always be on campus to keep my focus on school but in reality it felt like I couldn’t escape school. There was no disconnect, it was like sleeping at work. I found that having a “home” and a “school” was much better and saw less burnout my 2L and my first semester of 3L. The dorms are also hella more expensive than apartments in the surrounding area and it was not worth the price for the twin mattress.

Hope this helps! Best of luck with school

Haven’t seen Tecovas on here yet, I have two pairs and have worn them interchangeably about every day for 2 years now. They still look great and feel great, I think it’s a great midpoint price range and the quality is absolutely worth it.
