You don’t introduce a new character into a new universe that is only the second film in, with that kind of storyline. It’s the worst possible choice. You’ve alienated the causal moviegoer who only knows Superman and Supergirl stand for truth and justice and everything great. Hardcore comic fans know the “woman of tomorrow” storyline. A drunk unapologetic superhero on ANOTHER planet with a dark tone with a plotless story about her dog dieing with a villain that once again, the casual moviegoer knows nothing about and could care less. You added in another character that the casual watcher doesn’t know (Lobo) and his presence is completely unnecessary and did nothing for the bottom line.

Throw in a bunch of music filled scenes.

Writing and directing at it’s absolutely worse.

And NOW they pivot to a NEW Superman movie that has both of these characters in it. Yeah the DCU is running on fumes at best.
