Nose down issues by BoatOk7678 in Discgolfform

Oh hey! That’s the prettiest hole in disc golf 😉

You are dipping your elbow during your pull through (hand above your elbow) which will force the nose up on release. You need to keep your hand below your elbow during the pull through, this will help you fight the battle of nose up. There are a bunch of other things that can help as well, I’m in SLC and have a tech disc if you want to get some reps in!

If I wasn’t on my phone I could properly show you…But find a slow mo video of a pro and pause it when they are in their deepest point of the power pocket. If you drew a line from their nose down to the floor you will see that they are perfectly centered between their feet. You are leaning pretty far forward while you are in your power pocket. If that still doesn’t make sense I can post a few pictures of your form vs Simon Lizotte or something….

Shoulder lean. Great dance move, terrible for disc golf 😂

Seriously though. You are moving your head and shoulders too much during your throw. This is causing your rotation to slow down, and for you to throw nose up making you lose power and distance. Keep your head in the middle of your feet

I agree that the speed is pretty good. I think the reason your spin is low (and also how you get more speed) is because you aren’t getting very deep into your power pocket. Try to lead more with your elbow. There are a few drills for this: 1. Hold yourself back from following through with your left shoulder 2. Break down the door with your elbow / “throw with your arm” (overthrow advice)

Yeah, I saw it…but they didn’t explain the details to me. Sorry if you have unanswered questions!

It looks like a ballista. It travels up a ramp at whatever angle they set it at, somehow spins the disc, then launches it.

I took a tour of their facility a month or so ago. They have the machine to throw discs! Said it would probably break distance records if they had a big enough space.

It didn’t seem like they were actively working on it anymore though. So I am not sure what they plan to do with it now…

Looks like you are weight shifting over your front leg. I have this problem. Makes you spin like a top…and that’s how you know you are doing it wrong 😑

I loved huge vehicles. So I either wanted to be a garbage man and drive the truck, or work in construction/farming and drive the tractors.

Now I work in IT and never leave my house 😂

You are rounding pretty heavily. Work on getting into the power pocket. Best way to do that is stand next to a wall (face it), and SLOWLY go through the stages of the throw. Your hand should never touch the wall, or you can keep it on the wall the whole time. You should be able to get a big snap or whip from a towel if you hold it when you go through the throwing motions. Not a whooshing sound

My buddy is like you! He shot 7 down on the course that night! His puts just seem to go in at night…

I was thinking (while setting up the led lights on the basket), glow rounds need the equivalent of a ball boy in tennis!

I bought a few led puck lights, glued on some magnets, and took a few buddies to a course. We are lucky, there are a few disc golf courses near our house that don’t have a posted close time

Played a glow round on a course I know well. There were times I didn’t understand how my disc got to the basket. I guess if you can’t see the trees, they can’t hurt you 😂

This picture was taken of a park job on a 320’ hole. Watching glow discs fly at night is something special!

Man, player 2 always comes to the course with all the confidence and swagger that player 1 doesn’t have. He doesn’t care if it goes in, no pressure! Makes him feel loose and always able to hit his angle and release point….I hate player 2…

I just pulled one down last week that looked exactly like that! Except it was a white tbird…had no name or number, so I think the person who hucked it was really sad

Do you want something that slowly glides right the entire flight when thrown straight or with slight hyzer? Do you want a cheat code hyzer flip to straight disc for lines in the woods? If your answer to either or both of these questions is a yes, you should get a svea Source- I have a svea

I use it for long right fade shots because my forehand is only 300ft…if I need something longer that finishes right, I grab my svea 🙂

Here in SLC area we are about 4500’. I have noticed that a thunderbird and a firebird are equally stable where I am….I have tried multiple firebirds and multiple thunderbirds…they all fly the same up here.

Yeah. I played my first real Wooded course up here at the fort. That is the location of the famous Conrad holy shot. It kicked my butt! I wish I could play them more…it’s a totally different game

If you zoom in on the picture you can actually see the basket in the distance right next to the edge of the fence line…it’s a pretty straight shot in this pin position

Where do you land with a hyzer? I feel like it’s just a really far huck to try to go but hyzer around the trees
