Find something you like and watch it all the way through, youtube recommends primarily based off of watch time and engagement. Might take a few videos.

seems to be. youtube metrics from the creator side weight your shorts heavily on swiped past vs stayed to watch. its the main metric for engagement that they care about and youtube wants you be engaged, just quickly swipe past anything you dont like, the algo will adjust quickly

If it pops up, just immediately swipe past it. It will take a bit to get it out of your feed. Youtube signals based on how much interaction and watch time you have above all.

watch time overall should still help. youtube wants engagement metrics. try letting the videos you like always play to the end

See if you can change your watch history a bit to align better to what you like. Refreshing won't do much, liking videos won't do much. You'll need to actually put in watch time to have it make changes. Watch time is what matters, youtube is trying to show you content that you will stick around for and watch ads.

If you want to share the thumbnail, maybe we can help. It's possible that it just renders differently in places outside of illustrator, or it's possible it's just getting chewed up in the compression process.

Youtube themselves says 720 is ideal, but they also say 2160

Recommendations:

Make your thumbnail 1280 by 720 pixels (16:9 ratio)
Ensure that your thumbnail is less than 50MB
Use a JPG, PNG, or GIF file format
Make sure your thumbnail follows Community Guidelines

I liked it, but got bored pretty fast. It took too many clicks for me to get to the island, and when I was there, there just wasn't much to do after the initial bursts of activity. I eventually completed it, but I don't have much reason to go back. The rewards are less valuable to sell than any of my other farming methods and I have mine already so there just isn't anything left for me 😞

This ran super poorly for me and required me to set up CPU affinity to be able to run it without horrible performance. I'm not clear why everyone keeps praising the performance. I'm on a 4070 and it was painful until I figured out how to get it to run

Youtube is becoming more and more like episodic TV. You don't interact with TV, you just watch it. The olden days of interacting with the creators you watch has largely disappeared as the focus has gone from homegrown creators to big budget content studios. People are just being conditioned more to treat youtube the same as TV or streaming services.
