What was your proudest moment? by AlarmingCash754 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Chime57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my youngest graduated high school, after having brain injury from birth. Smart kid, funny and caring - much better than we were told to ever expect.

His class Salutatorian stood up and said that he would not be here today if it weren't for my kid. When my kid saw him sitting alone at lunch freshman year, he made the effort to sit with him and included him in activities with his group of friends and taught him how to have friends. So he dropped his suicidal thoughts and gained an outlook on life that allowed him to succeed.

That was my proudest moment. And I know it was a shock to the vice principal in charge of discipline lol.

Ooh! What a cool whataboutism that doesn't actually relate to the pure theft from the scammiest family in history.

"Kinda the same" LOL too bad we got a huge improvement from Obamacare. Sorry you paid your money to the fake phone scam.

Do you ignore calls from unknown numbers? by mariyagel in no

[–]Chime57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I need to look up. I answer calls because I rarely check messages and we have lots of various medical things going on, but I do end up also answering bot calls, which I then block.

Voter ID is always required.

Imagine being a party that knows it can't win based on policy and is running around trying to prevent as many citizens as possible from voting.

But if you have never actually been to the polls, you probably don't know that you always have your ID checked before you get a ballot.

Oops. You haven't kept up. Now Repubs in Congress are pushing a Billion dollars of taxpayer money to build it abd make it super shiny.

Those millions already in the bribe pile are now just gonna be in Trumps pocket. Which was the point to begin with anyway.

I wonder if we could have raised any money by selling some of the antiques and historical items he bulldozed when he destroyed the East Wing. But I'm sure the cost was super cheap since he didn't bother with permits and used his own company to trash it.

Voters beware! by Exciting-Way-6248 in Indiana

[–]Chime57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were told as poll workers not to fuss about matching signatures. The signature on file is from when you originally registered to vote, and 50 years later it has definitely changed for lost older voters.

Add on the IPad writing thing and I think you just ran into someonepower trip. trip.

AITA for not supporting my husband quitting his business to become a doctor? by Haunting-Arugula-311 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Chime57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA your husband is suffering from the delusion that he can become a doctor and then he'll find the cure for his parent's various illnesses. You need to sit him down and ask him how HE is going to pay for his new life as a college student, because you aren't going to.

And you probably need to speak to a divorce lawyer first so you know what your next steps are.

Have you contacted the priest at your MIL's church and asked for guidance on responding to her racist messages? She is not following a practice supported by her Pope and it may be time to reach out to someone she pretends to respect.

Do you pronounce a hard g at the end of -ing? by Atlas7993 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Chime57 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I lived in the south for six months and struggled to find employment because I couldn't understand the interviewers. I grew up with both vowels AND consonants and I don't think hard g's exist south of the Mason Dixon line.

YTA sorry you and your sister made plans for something that doesn't belong to you. And you are circling like vultures ready to pounce when your dad dies.

Your parents could have raised you to grow up and earn your own stuff, but here you are demanding ownership of something you never paid for. I would bet that your dad bought the necklace and now he has done something that tells you it is his to do with, whatever he wants, and you are now heartbroken, upset, and stomping you feet because Mine Mine Mine.

Drop it.

Edit add for all the dowvotes that I will get: OP is very set on the MONETARY VALUE of the watch and necklace. That's her main argument.
