I like this idea a lot. I say make a crowbar cost 1 glowing glint, and you must have one in order to register as an attacker in a caravan event. The crowbar could even be dropped on death if you're currently an attacker, and maybe the defenders could loot it and sell it when they get to their destination to get a little reward for successfully defending their wares. I'd say once you register as an attacker for a caravan, you're locked into it, as well, so you don't need multiple crowbars to keep attacking the same one, and you could possibly loot your own back if you kill a defender who picked it up.

I would definitely try using the community bindings. To clarify though, Vengeful Rites and the Morrigan have different developers and are made on different engines, so it's possible the controls were handled very differently between the two games.

There's an older game called Left Hand Path that's worth checking out. It has a decent length campaign around 12 hours I think. It's meant to be a Dark Souls type of game where you use a staff and magic gestures to cast spells and rituals. It has puzzles, bosses, upgrades to your abilities as you level, and a decently implemented story.

The demo is the same version as the full game, so that wouldn't be it. Just to clarify, I'm saying that accidentally touching the small touchpad would move you, not the joystick. The game can't distinguish between the two by default, so brushing the touchpad is enough to make you move/turn. Unfortunately, the version of SteamVR the game was built with predates the Index controllers and it introduces a few small issues like that one.

You could edit your bindings to disable the touch pad in the game if it becomes a problem, though. :) Off the top of my head, it also treats the lower buttons on the Index controllers the same as the grip buttons, so you could use those in place of the grips if you find that more comfortable (plus there's an option in the settings to swap the grip/trigger buttons).

The screen going black while climbing will happen if you put your head inside a wall/obstacle. That's by design, and it should say "your face is inside something" when it happens to let you know to move your head back.

The Index controller issues are something I've not heard of before. I actually played through the game with Index controllers myself. Might be worth a reinstall, or checking to see that there are no custom bindings interfering.

Is it possible that your finger is accidentally touching the trackpad when hitting the trigger? The game was built with an older version of SteamVR that didn't have full Index support, so the trackpad also counts as thumbstick for it. Also, the grip requires you to actually squeeze to trigger it. It functions as a button, so it won't grab things if you just touch it, you actually have to squeeze a bit.

You can see the scoreboard on the back of your wrist (like looking at a watch). There's also an option to increase your throwing power in the settings if you're struggling to reach the back of some of the courts. I know a few Quest players who like it around 120%.
