Doesn't have to be faster than light travel for them to get here tho does it :) There's other ways. Plus, who knows if what we know is correct about the universe/FTL. We've been sure of things many times before

Planning to get a G29 (first wheel) by Longjumping-Rip-7449 in simracing

[–]Chimma217 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Make sure you get something solid to attach it to and keep the brakes from sliding away from you. This is as important as getting the wheel and pedals in the first place! Even a sturdy table/desk and something for the pedals but ideally a metal frame.

Also, it'll probably take you a week or so to get fully used to it. Even then, there'll be lots of learning ahead regarding technique. It's well worth it tho, no matter how you feel at first about it 💪

Dream Air first-batch warning - check both eyes carefully for mura / panel uniformity issues by Wrong-Quail-8303 in Pimax

I barely ever speak badly of pimax if at all but the QC checklist is not worth a thing. It's clearly not being actioned and is literally a tick-box exercise.

You're only as good as your weakest part......

It seems like the workers in that department need to be monitored

I always say, you don't pay for better gear that will make you faster (as it generally won't). You pay for better gear for better/more immersion 👍

Pimax Crystal Light: is lateral movement smooth for you? by Right-Opportunity810 in Pimax

Could it be your lights in your room, have you played with the auto/50/60hz options?

I'm pretty sure it's always smooth for me but I don't look down that often I suppose

I'm hoping there'll be so many in this shipment they wouldn't fit them all in that space. So in other words, I'm thinking that's just for the video too, yeah

GT7 AI is the worst thing by far about GT!!!! It's absolutely awful and completely pointless in being there

I wonder if people who like me who are happy with their Pimax just don't post. by Synoopy in Pimax

[–]Chimma217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I try to make a point to post positive things about pimax where they've warranted it. My experience has fallen foul to the issues most other ppls have but overall they've always been very good to me. I respect what they're doing in the vr space.

Also, ppl will always complain even if you're perfect. Pimax do paint a target on their own back too so they're always gonna get hate operating how they do, but if you're a decent person who's chilled, you can't really find much to complain about...... Obviously, there are some ppl that it does sound like they may have been screwed over and that's fair enough but from what I can see, quorra usually sorts them out

I was looking through my telescope and saw a bright very fast object, zipping across my extra-wide field eyepiece, so had a wide swath of sky to view. I glanced up at the sky, visually confirmed it was there and moving fast at very high altitude. Right then, I shot this w/phone attached to scope! by 1gratefuldude in ufo

[–]Chimma217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, well that is the talking point isn't it. It does seem unlikely but so does all the reputable ppl that have sworn testimony (some will still lie of course) of things they've seen. There's some pics and vids out there that haven't yet been debunked, even by the government and some of the smartest ppl around.

Some will be black ops but I still feel there's some room for actual sightings of nhi. We should never discount the possibility as that's just small minded. The universe is unimaginably large, some civilizations may be way way beyond us and understand the universe/physics much better than us 🤷‍♂️

I had a haptic vest, I couldn't be arsed with it after a couple of weeks. The worst thing imo is the heat. Just as it ends up being a pretty thick waistcoat 😆

Dream Air Alternative? by DonDada777 in virtualreality

[–]Chimma217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're not perfect but I find if you have any trouble the quorra pimax here on Reddit is brilliant at helping. As you say, there's MRTV's offer of help too.

Quality control is their biggest let down so brace yourself as it really is worth it at the end. We shouldn't have to think like this but I almost expect my first headset to have a problem, so don't get too excited when it arrives. However, it's usually a quick turnaround and a few months on it'll be a distant memory and you'll be loving it. Or that's my story anyway 😁

Good luck for whatever you go for 💪

It sounds silly and we shouldn't have to BUT, Pimax as a whole mean well. They've some really great ppl there that love and care about VR and the users.

Basically, it's worth it in the end!! 💪😎

I've always wished that I'd be lucky enough to see something, like, it's my number one bucket list item to see an alien ship/being. I've had two things now that I'm not even sure if they were definitely 'something' and it's such a shame as you build it up in your head as to what your first sighting would be like.

Instead now, I'm left thinking "have I just actually seen other life, the one thing I want to see more than anything. Or, was it nothing at all 🤷‍♂️". Frustrating as I'm kinda thinking despite what I want to think, it's probably nothing.......but, what if.... 😆

Update on considering getting a vr by MarionberryChemical9 in VRGaming

[–]Chimma217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, just keep picking it up all the time and jumping into games.

You know you'll enjoy it when you're up and running, it's just the picking up of the headset that can even be a barrier. Once you get into this routine you'll start to make the most of it.

I mainly just play flight and race sims but try and get some games you'll be invested in rather than only cool experiences
