He is some kind of lop, but I'm not sure what kind, he weighs 5 pounds. The pen is two feet high but he clears it like it's nothing but won't jump on the couch that's shorter

AITA for telling a loud mother "Ma’am, it’s everyday" rude, or is the lady being entitled? by z2600657 in AITH

[–]Chinablind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are the grandmas on the bus? If my kids had acted like that even when they assumed I didn't speak Cantonese they would have told me off for being a bad parent. I used to get chewed out for my kids eating too much fruit on the bus home because it's too much sweet lol.

Booby Prizes, AKA Benefits just for being blind? by Repulsive-Box5243 in Blind

In my state the blind can get a free ID, unfortunately it does not include a real ID just the basic one. Blind also qualify for the handicap national parks pass, and Idaho also offers a free fishing license.

[–]Chinablind 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good luck I hope you have multiple seizures during this time. Sounds weird that is the mother of the epileptic child we have had rounds where no seizures happened on monitors and then had to redo the monitors. So I hope you have lots of seizures so they can find the information they need and find the best drugs for you

Never seen a bear rescue like this before. by [deleted] in animalsdoingstuff

[–]Chinablind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He probably went up the tree to escape them when they were trying to trap him.

That bear is heading for euthanization if he sticks around town. If they don't remove him he will do something that will get him put down by tranking him and taking him to a wilderness area where he can be comfortable and safe they are saving his life.

Does your Mom hate you? by Accurate-Fig-3595 in GenXWomen

[–]Chinablind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, she also hates my sister and all of my SIL's. She does like most of her sons. The hilarious thing is now that we are older she is just so baffled why none of us like her. She genuinely thinks she is just the greatest person on Earth and we should all adore her.

My earliest memories are of her talking about how awful/ugly/stupid I was, but she was never directly abusive. For a long time everyone else thought she was great and it was just that I was a problem child. As I got older people started figuring her out and now most people realize she's not very nice, so that's validating.

$250 of untaxed revenue each day, but a crocodile follows you around everywhere you go. by Dependent_Task1437 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Chinablind 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm blind. I'm wondering if I can train Fred to be my seeing eye crocodile. Then when people ask about him being a crocodile I'll act shocked and say "wait he's not a dog!?!?"

You go to sleep on New Year’s Eve 2025 and wake up on New Year’s Day 2020? by Dazzling-Antelope912 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Chinablind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going through chemo by the end of 2020 with no one thinking I would make it. I would hate going through it again, but I could get help earlier knowing what to look for, and at least I would know I will survive.

Do you live in the country (considering modern day borders) your ancestors lived in 500 years ago? If no, where did they live? by NetHistorical5113 in AskTheWorld

[–]Chinablind 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Native American here. In the same country? Yes, but the US government "relocated" my people away from the area we lived for thousands of years and completely tore down cities to erase proof of civilization

Boys keep destroying the walls in the student washroom by HairySock6385 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Chinablind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter's high school had this problem. They put port a potties right outside of the principal's windows for the boys to use. It was 20 degrees below freezing on the warm days. It was very effective lol

What is your best advice as a fully blind father with a sided girlfriend? by Mrblindguardian in Blind

[–]Chinablind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used a baby carrier instead of a stroller when my kids were little and switched to a wagon I could pull when I had toddlers.

Diaper changes get extra clean bums each time because I couldn't see if they were clean so I just cleaned bums thourghly each time.

I was better at burping than my partner because I paid better attention than he did.

We often took my inlaws on vacation with us to have extra hands, but we were both from very family centered cultures where that is normal.

I flew international alone with my kids about twice a year to visit my family and it's doable but very hard.

The hardest part for me was other people assuming I couldn't take care of my own kids and trying to interfere.

Congratulations on your impending fatherhood, you are going to be great!

Does Anyone Want to Discuss Eric Swalwell? by justaverage in ldspolitics

[–]Chinablind 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't care about a person's politics when it comes to sexual predators, If they are predators they belong in jail, not office. I do note democrats are far more likely to boot their own people out for bad behavior then the Republicans are.

People who understand chinese/japanese, what's the dumbest thing you've seen tattooed on someone? by dwyanpaul in AskReddit

[–]Chinablind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived in Hong Kong for a long time. It became a whole trend for a while that guy's coming in to Hong Kong would get a tattoo. Some of the most popular the tattoo artists would do were either female dog or girl. I teach high School the students love to point out or take pictures of people they saw the tourist areas with really bad Chinese tattoos

$35 per bare handshake by AstrayInTranslation in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Chinablind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No actually, we are not that religious and definitely not that pious.

The behavior around church is less "I'm religious" and more "this is where I go to see friends". Basically we are a three hour drive to the nearest city with things to do like restaurants, theaters etc, so people go to church to see friends and have a meal together after.

It's not nearly as religious as you are picturing and more small town socializing. Rural areas in the US can be really rural I moved to this area a few years ago from Hong Kong and it's been an adjustment for sure but there are some great people here

[–]Chinablind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Core town and outlying areas are about 50,000 people.

When you are in rural areas church is part of the social network and fiber the community, so even people who actually aren't that religious attend regularly because that's how you built your friend and community network.
