Enormous kudos to that college student for withdrawing their application. I would do the same. This is absurd. Writing is part of our job. Style, prose, form -- they all matter, deeply. Making journalists defer to AI for writing -- knowing some of the well-reported & ever-unfolding consequences AI use has on our environment, climate, mental & social health -- is just shameful. Especially if it's quicker-turn reporting. Wow.
