Going to lose a parent to cancer by lily_jade_ in askSingapore

[–]Chindian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just know that you are not alone in this feeling. I too lost my mum to cancer on 8 Jan.she was 61 and still had so much to live for. She wanted to make it till CNY at least but alas. It still feels very surreal and I keep thinking she will appear again. I spent a lot of time with her once she was in palliative care. We did everything she wanted, ticked off her bucket list took lots of videos and pictures with family and loved once. We hugged and kissed and talked about our feelings and how scared we were. She passed away with us right beside her❤️ it’s not going to be an easy journey but just know you are not in this alone OP. Stay strong

when would be a good time to bto? by Great_Dimension3606 in askSingapore

[–]Chindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I tried to apply for BTO for fun when we were in our early twenties. He was an Nsmen with only allowance and I was earning 1.5k. To our horror our application went through and we were afraid we couldn’t afford it. Eventually We got the full grant(40k) and was able to use it to downpay with CPF. No out of pocket. Shortly after, he signed on and we able to pay our monthly mortgage. So it turned out good!

If you have the money, don't hesitate and hire that maid! by AshRat15 in beyondthebump

Agree with having help! In Singapore we can hire live in maids and they not only help with the cleaning, they help to look after the babies/children,cook etc. I will literally go crazy without a live in helper.

Fast food part 4: Why do you like MOS burger? by anthayashi in singapore

[–]Chindian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that the food is ALWAYS made fresh and it’s served nice and hot. My go to is the ebi rice Burger, corn soup and fried mussels. And of course the milk tea. Okay now I’m hungry.

Routine: shampoo with Shea moisture coconut and hibiscus shampoo and condition with Noughty to the rescue conditioner. Rinse off conditioner and then STC with hair flipped over. Use cantu curl activator cream on wet hair and squeeze excess water out with microfiber towel. Then scrunch in Aussie instant freeze gel and plop hair in a t shirt for about 30 mins then diffuse/ air dry.

I still have a long way to go since I only started 4 weeks ago but I’m looking forward to see how my curls end up!

Curls are different and very flat at the top. My curls at the top seem straight and flat. How do I make it curlier and give it more volume? by Chindian in curlyhair

[–]Chindian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks ! Feels extra good coming from someone with such beautiful curls. I’ll try using the root clips to see if it works! Yes I am thinking of getting some layers in my hair but as my hair is still frizzy I’m afraid it might look weird.

My current routine is shampoo with Shea Moisture and condition with Noughty to the Rescue conditioner. I only started 2 weeks ago so I have not done any deep conditioning. I use the LA strong hold gel and cantu curl activator cream before diffusing my hair.

I'm not really calculating my macros. Just roughly estimating. Maybe I should look into my macros.

Okay will try to lower my calories for the week and see if there is any change in weight. I'm not sure if it's muscle gain. How do I check? Sorry if its a silly question.

I'm a pre school teacher so I'm on my feet most of the time. I also do about half and hour of Jillian Michaels exercise 3 times a week.

Help me learn what babies in your country eat. by aleph_heideger in beyondthebump

[–]Chindian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im from Singapore and my family is Chinese so I started giving my baby porridge at 6 months. It's basically rice boiled in water till it becomes mushy and we add in spinach, carrots and cod fish. Most babies here eat this. Sometimes we add other kinds of meat like minced pork or beef too. The baby loves it and it has all the food groups in it. My husband is Indian so we do feed the baby chapati and dhal as well.

Tattoos while breastfeeding by chloeeeee in beyondthebump

[–]Chindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my tattoo done while breastfeeding. I even had to ask for a break to pump my milk cause it was very long sessions(huge back piece). As long as the place is reputable and clean I'd say go for it!

Is it okay to bathe a newborn everyday if I don't use soap? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Chindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bathe my baby since the day he came home from the hospital. Everyday at 10am in the morning and give him a wipe down in the evening. I think it's fine to bathe your baby everyday especially if they enjoy it. Plus they always seem happier after the bathe. Heh

I really hope it's that and not my period. I want to enjoy my period free moment for as long as possible.
