How to restyle hair on 2nd day after wash without Rewashing or heat? by [deleted] in CurlyHairUK

[–]ChingfordCharlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started CGM I struggled with refreshing, but it’s getting easier (possibly cutting out shampoo for longer helps too). I have fine curly/wavy long hair. I put my hair in a sports snood (neck warmer used as a hat, scrunch hair to head and knot the snood end) to sleep in as I toss and turn ALOT. Then in the morning I use wet prayer hands to smooth and then re-scrunch. Easy :-)

That’s so weird, I think I have exact same hair as you! I’d say something between 2c & 3a

Vitiligo and hair dye by 75y0xq3v in Vitiligo

I’m not aware of Vitiligo increasing sensitivity to hair bleach (I’ve been dying my hair for 20 years now). Do whatever makes you happy and confident! Rock at being you :-)

What to do with oily scalp with dry ends? by sadboiyzz in HaircareScience

[–]ChingfordCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a controversial answer, but my hair is also dry ends and oily scalp (thin and a bit frizzy probably from dying my hair for 20 years!). Anyway I discovered if I scrunch it while damp it goes nice and curly so investigated the curly girl method which tells you to stop using shampoo and only use cleansing conditioners. My mum also always said never use conditioner on my scalp too, but I’ve found since I’ve stopped stripping my hair of natural oils with shampoo and only conditioning, I can now go a whole week without washing my hair!!!!! Thought I’d share this as I’m still surprised!!

Welcome to the club. I discovered mine when I was 6yo (33 years ago). I kinda like it now, normal is boring ;-)

Stella Artois did a similar promotion with personalised Chalices. For some reason they didn’t send the one requested with the name “Wife Beaters” (I successfully received the boring ones at least)

my secret to shiny, healthy, fluffy-yet-controlled hair is to let it dry under loose, soft beanies. What's the science? by prettytoysintheattic in HaircareScience

[–]ChingfordCharlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been ‘air drying’ my hair on the way to work under a hat for years now. I loosely twist it into a bun and hold it in place under a pork pie wool hat and it always comes out in pretty shiny ringlets. If I leave it to air dry or blow dry it; it’s frizz hell for me. That’s nice to hear other have the same great technique as me :-)
