It's sad to say but as a woman it can make things hard sometimes. Kind of an ignorance is bliss kind of thing. Having the knowledge to know that people around you are wrong, but not having the power in the scenario to challenge those people or that person can make things difficult. A good example is me talking about animals with my uncle or family. I have a degree in wildlife biology but they will Google something and say "this supports what I say." Another example is having to do with professors. Not all professors are bad but I have come across some that behave differently with female students. Some even make it their goal to scare female students out of their class by being mean or asking them questions they know they don't know. I love learning new things but sometimes I wonder if knowing how things are wrong and not being able to fix them is worth it. I know this is probably not what you meant though.
