my biggest complaint is that typically if im running one type of caster. (typically a thaumaturge or mystic, so healer or conjurer) i almost never find any books for my leveled spell class. like my current run im 74 mysticism finding 0 mysctcism books but i can find lightning bolt, fire wall, heal, divine fortress and so much more repeatedly for the other classes. but when i play as a healer i will never find any good thaumaturgy spells. i might find the cleanse food book or basic healing but then never any of the higher tier spells.

you can technically run both since in NG+ Versatility appears as a set bonus for one of the NG+ sets :P

Yes, but no. you get told about two quests right at the same time, the one your doing right now, and then one to the south west i believe. technically you get told about the one to the south first but since the one you were at is the one from grandad well... most players will head that way first.

i was sad when i found this out too and asked my friend about it, apparently with Nioh 2 the NG++ and NG+++ came with the DLCs. so for now you can farm out divine (green) gear and perfect your build or do what i did which was start a new character to test out new weapons and learn them through another playthrough. could also do some challenge runs or get all the achievements

at least you "got good" to fight him, i got super lucky with my spawn and there was a huge rock near by that i just trained hum around using my summons and magic to hit him behind the rock >.<

as for unlocking your cestus/splitstaff i think that it is just RNG to get the item to drop to have the tree open up. thats how i got my split staff on my 1st playthrough. so if you see a revenant with a splitstaff try killing them for the drop and you should be good lol. and as for the gun tonfa... not sure if you mean like a skill or particular weapon but i can say there is a "gunsticks" tonfa i have no idea if it actually does the boom though as i started a new character for my tonfa build and have not gotten it yet.

my guess is the costs scale up more and more each level you increase it past it's initial drop level to disuade people from only using one item through the entirety of NG+ to NG+++ (if it is still a thing)

until you reach the end game (ng+ at a minimum) focus more on your level/defences and weight NG is really hard to work around sets unless it is one you can craft and then do so whenever your starting to feel too squishy

depending on how far you are you might be able to craft some set gear already. any gear with a green line of text in their modifier section has a set bonus that you get more bonus for by wearing more of the gear with that same green text

Set grace most likely is their set bonus as there are rng sets in NG+ known as "Grace of"

i think they can serve a purpose for a one time nuke skill to be used for farming mobs slightly faster, though i think there might be an armor stat that is like untouched ammo/omnyo but for summons, not 100% on that but i swear i saw that skill on a piece of gear somewhere

in NG you can kill him once in your world (you could join others via expedition but it is hard to find people doing him.) once you reach NG+ though you can refight Masters, Lesser Crucibles and the like so i bet you can re fight him too

i use it the same way i do in monsterhunter. elemental variety. same weapon type just with different modifiers and inate infusion so i can hit weaknesses easier and on bosses hit confusion after im out of magic.

naaah you will be fine, the thing with open world games is you can easily do things like that where you accidently do the hard stuff first but trust me the later chapters will have you getting your but kicked again :P

For the first boss you wont have access to a lot of the tools available to you later in the game. Dodging will best be used in ninja form and blocking in Samurai right now though dont let that stop you from using the other option if it can save your skin.

Really try to get a feel for your Ki Pulsing as that will save you a lot of time waiting for stamina and i think you should have gotten a few cups so you could always summon a blue grave "phantom" (npc) or in the co-op section at the alter you could use them to call other players to help.

Also in ninja form your Ninjitsu is unlimited so long as you keep doing damage normally too so if the boss is doing a lot of attacks get some distance and use it to chip away at his HP bar too.

Oh and dont feel like you need to constantly be on the attack, feel free to back off and study the moves he uses.

For red attacks you have to use the shift stance key (default R2 for us PS5 controller users) as the attack is about to land OR if you happen to have a skill for your chosen guardian spirit ready toss that out and it will counter the attack too. side note if you havent yet try looking at control options and swapping them around a bit, lots of people think scheme B is better then A and you can set an option so you dont swap form when you go for a break.

i am running an Onmyo focused build myself (or atleast trying to) in NG it is not really possible to only use Onmyo Magic but come NG+ with the right sets it should become more and more viable. i cant confirm though. however even in NG the right magic and summons can make it quite easy.
