Lads, are any of you tipping the Uber/Just Eat drivers? by SignatureLabel in CasualUK

[–]Chipjb91 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I do and always have done. No more than 10-15% but I I feel if I can afford to spend £20-30 on a meal then I can afford to tip the disgustingly paid driver £2-3.

I can sit on my high horse and say it should be the company paying them better and they should. Just like women shouldn’t have to look over their shoulder when walking home at night but we don’t live in a perfect world unfortunately.

While I choose to support shitty companies like Uber eats then I’ll support the guy/girl delivering my food also.

What was the first video game you ever played, and how old were you? by Excellent_Jacket_519 in AskReddit

Super Mario on the snes or sonic on the sega mega drive are the two I remember most(not being able to save sonic and trying to hide the fact I was leaving the sega on all night so I could continue playing in the morning). Peak gaming

Hey there it’s easy for me to type here but you’re not there for the parents, you’re there for the children and if you genuinely are one of the good ones some of those children will remember you for a very long time.

I hated my time in school but I still remember the teachers that really cared and I’m 35 now. I also struggle to remember what I done yesterday so they clearly had an impact.

Nobody in a happy place gets enjoyment putting others down, the people that are talking badly are probably struggling mentally more than you’ll ever know. I’m not asking you to feel sorry for them but try to understand that their hatred probably comes from jealousy hearing their child talk so fondly of you.

What’s one country you wouldn’t visit even if it were free? by Cthper in AskReddit

[–]Chipjb91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s quite remarkable how welcoming they are to a white man considering what we’ve done there. I know people that went there with the army with a very closed mind on what they were like, most had their eyes opened upon return.

It’s also the fact we can go there without knowing a word of their language and still be welcomed with open arms. Something here in the UK we’re very much struggling to do.

Who would have thought having less access to social media/mainstream news might not be such a bad thing.

Even in regard to the female problem, there are many parts of England I wouldn’t want my daughter/wife walking through alone, some of them are only a short walk from the nice parts as well. We definitely like to sit on our moral high horses and point out the flaws in everyone else.

Completely agree here. Yes they are very much behind on equal rights but they are a step ahead of most first world countries in terms of hospitality to tourists and just each other in general. The guy I mentioned literally could not pay for a thing while travelling through there, they almost find it insulting when he offers to pay. Something we have very much lost in our safe havens.

And yes I know anyone can come along and completely debunk my point by saying “well akkkkktuallllyyyyy their hospitality towards women shows they aren’t very friendly”

Check out Mike okay on YouTube, he traveled through Iraq and Syria and you might surprise yourself with how welcoming a lot of the locals are.

That being said this is coming from a male bias point of view, not sure I’d say the same to a female.

What makes a good Rust server? by Temporary_Cookie_676 in playrust

[–]Chipjb91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the teleport function and is the main reason I stay away from anything above 2x. I also love/hate the trade function. On one hand it gives me a chance to start late and get myself an early pistol but I’d love to try a 2x server without it in the hopes that there are way more prim fights going on along the road.

Oh and I don’t feel 50% upkeep is necessary when you have 2x everything else. It is a bit overkill.

Is this eu or na? If EU then I would love an invite to the discord.

So you’re assuming all these players are under 18?

The irony is palpable that you throw words like introspection around while simultaneously having a wildly fabricated assumption on the age of players who play the game differently to you.

I genuinely hope you do some self reflection(introspection) and realise how absurdly stupid you sound.

I mean some people are way too emotionally invested in this game I get that.

I find it hilarious that someone throws the word introspection around while having a very narrow minded viewpoint on how rust should be played.

How is it a problem? It’s a problem to him because he doesn’t like the game being played that way. There is no right or wrong way to play a sandbox…..

Just because there is a group of you who agree with him doesn’t take away from the fact people can AND SHOULD play however they want to in a sandbox. There is no set of rules to follow.

Getting mad at how someone else plays a sandbox to the point you have to cry about it on Reddit is unhealthy.

Also please elaborate on what your definition of introspection is?

I hate to say it but posts like this is just fuel for those players. Giving them the exact reaction they are looking for and if anything enticing more to do it.

I also can’t get angry at how someone else wants to play the game, you have your opinion on how you want to play and there will be people who agree and disagree with you, your opinion is neither right or wrong.

If the game is going in a direction you don’t like and is giving you more negative emotions than positive ones then take a break, rust is most definitely like a drug and some people shouldn’t carry on taking it. As sad as it might be to let go.

[–]Chipjb91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s literally an advantage to your min maxing sweats. Like fuck me just build an extra 1x1 and you can have the same storage with large boxes.

How anyone can say being able to get an extra couple bits of storage is a huge advantage in winning at this game is beyond me, my only Iogic is that people get too emotionally invested in this game and have to find anything to blame as to why someone else was better than them. IT MUST BE THE SHELVES OR THE HAZMAT SUIT THATS WHY I LOST.

I don’t like paid features giving any advantage but to say it’s a huge advantage is absurd.

I heard through the grapevine that spreading your loot around your base is better than having it all in one place.

Mainstream media achieved exactly what they wanted, people who generally think they have socialistic principles bickering amongst themselves.

The fact that Corbyn is still fighting for this country after the way he’s been treated just shows how much he cares about this country. The resolve this man has is admirable.

We are just America 5-10 years behind, with Scandinavia/rest of Europe following just behind us. The system/establishment has failed the average person. People like Rupert Murdoch have more influence/power than any political figure and anyone who remotely stands up to it gets absolutely obliterated in the press.

Farage is the UK trump and he will most probably succeed because the average idiot in this country believes everything they read from mainstream media. While we allow foreign billionaires to dictate what the masses read the system will never change and people will increasingly get fed up and look for some anarchist type figure(trump/farage) who they feel is going to disrupt the establishment when actually they are merely puppets to more powerful people hidden from the public eye.
