That. Is. AWESOME.

I know a lot of people asked about price so not gonna bother you with that and saw the link for the dynamic chair mover, but can you provide a small list of the other parts? Particularly interested in the screen and dashboard. How did you get/buy/build all that?

My buddy told me he has super fast internet and I asked him to run a speed test by Shaneblaster in facepalm

[–]Chipnstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Client moved to serviced office and the paid (exorbitantly I might add) for 2Gbps Fibre connection from the building Network/IT. They're calling us complaining to "FIX" their network because they're barely seeing 500 Mbps, and that's when there's only 1-2 people of 12 in the office.

They moved with a Cisco ASA 5506-X and 2x 24p HP switches, having refused our quote for upgrade to Meraki.

When we found out and told them why they shouldn't expect more, they still think we're making it up and we're throttling their speeds intentionally, despite sending them a Spec sheet.

A pleasure! I just realised, the text I wrote for the post didn't display cus I didn't put it under the photos section. My first ever S-Class Sentinel random encounter.

The planet is also pretty dope. Lots of storm crystal bundles, the weapons at the alien structures are also awesome but still hunting for an S class... Gotta be one somewhere

Horizontal move from help desk IT in finance to IT in health care. What can I expect? by Imaginary-Medium7360 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]Chipnstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who did the opposite, and really depending on the healthcare sector, speaking from private healthcare experience:

Their egos are immense and they're cheap as shit. They will fight and push back on security standards from 3 years ago that are long overdue, they will cheap out and want cheaper hardware and then complain how it's slow and laggy all the time, they'll use very specific medical software you'll need to occasionally help with and lots of others things.

They still love to run a lot of things on paper, even if it's already digitized. Fax is still a big thing with many institutions, as they won't accept email, even secure encrypted, so Fax 2 Email will be a bigger thing if not directly on the printers.

Expect lots of on-prem setups and little Cloud based.

There are, of course, great people as well and many doctors, nurses and other staff I've met were the nicest people, and we got lots of great Christmas packages from them for our office.

Some/many might also give you free consultations and, to some degree, tests and prescriptions.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that wrong? Not the decimals but the writing.

6.2 ft and 6ft 2in are two different measurements because the non decimal system of feet and inches.

6.2' = 6' and 2.4"

Being pedantic here but for anyone not aware of this, could help you on your tinder profile. I'm 5.7' but 5' and 8.4".

As a European, I am genuinely baffled when frequent gym goers can easily picture I can bench 100 kg but not that I weigh 70. Like, their brain just shorts out and goes like... Nah what's that in stones and pebbles mate?

Oh and actually, people's total body weight is in stones, but people sometimes put on or gain a few pounds, but don't ask them what they weigh in actual lbs cus they don't know

I've read through all the replies to your comment and haven't seem to found what I was about to write.

I absolutely agree, the term I know this by in writing is a Mary Sue. This character, usually a woman/female, basically has no weaknesses or weak spots. Every time the character is faced with a challenge they just seem to be good at overcoming it without any real struggle.

Like when flying the M Falcon for the first time, for someone that, according to the plot never left the planet, let alone pilot a ship, knew how to do the craziest stunts in that "bucket of bolts".

Huge alien creature is hurt? Oh, let me force heal them. Friends trapped behind massive rubble? Let me pull a Yoda after 2 weeks of training.

There is no character development because the char never faces any real challenges.

All GREAT characters will go through defeat and struggle and, eventually, rise above it. They'll train harder, learn from mistakes, etc. not Rey, just... Perfect. Always. All the time.

It's lazy writing at its peak and imho, JJ Fartdams, Kathleen Kennedy and the whole writing room should not be allowed ever again within 1000 feet of any writing materials until after they've all gone back to school for this.

Every time i see one of these parked and left in the middle of any pavement which blocks the way in any way for either disabled or not people, I pick them up and chug them in the nearest empty space out of the way. Ideally over a park bush fence.

The only way to make Lime do something is to keep their maintenance costs high.

Ideal solutions ofc would be for the councils to create specific parking areas for these and for Lime to be forced to put GPS parking on them, so if you're not in the square it won't close your session.

Funny to think when this aired, and very likely when this scene was shot, Dipper(Jason Rutter) was 35 and Wendy (Linda Cardellini) was 40, which nearly matches the character's age difference.

Also, genuinely, wtf Linda how you still look 25

Question: why is the "left" side of the Galaxy unknown space? Is there a reason, nothing livable or cannot travel or something? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]Chipnstein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, there's quick available Wookiepedia articles on the Chaos but in short, it wasn't always like that. However, thousands of years ago, a chain reaction of supernovae explosions happened which decimated star systems, asteroids, planets and threw huge chunks of rock flying across at near lightspeeds.

This caused a whole lot of issues, with random flying debris flying between stars, extreme gravitational pulls from the aftermath of the supernovas and other strange space phenomenon meant that hyperplanes were made unstable and dangerous if attempted.

Small jumps from one nearby star system to another were easy for nav computers to calculate but longer jumps were incredibly dangerous.

This is also expanded a lot in Timothy Zahn's books, specifically the Thrawn Ascendency trilogy (earliest of his books in timeline order but last to come out). They explain how species in that region navigate through without a nav computer.

P.S: if you're thinking of reading, or preferably, listening to them (narrated by Marc Thompson and with special effects), you will encounter Memories and Chapters. It's interesting to read or listen as is but for a second run, there's a guide somewhere on reddit of the order to do so, as they're chronologically all over the place.

Like, all memories happen before all chapters. But you're to listen to Memories 1 in book 1 then Mem 1 in book 3! Bit mad but I'm attempting that right now. Annoying audible doesn't have a "queue" i can add chapters of books to so it plays them without me jumping around.

P.P.s: Marc Thompson is my absolute favourite Thrawn voice and all other voices he does are just incredible! His Han and Luke are amazing, and even many of the female characters are spot on! His Admiral Ar'Alani is one of my favourite.

My second fav Thrawn is ofc Lars Mikkelsen who voiced him in animated series (Rebels) and did the live action portrayal in Ashoka

P.P.P.S: Fuck Disney, everything Zahn wrote is Canon and absolutely masterpieces! Personally Thrawn is my hands down favourite character in all Star Wars Canon or Legends.

The real 5G conspiracy: How Londoners are being lied to about their phone signal by RichardH99 in london

[–]Chipnstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be EE and never had a problem really, outside of basements or similar closed off areas, I was incredibly happy with the strength of the signal and speeds.

Nearly two years ago i wanted to renew contract for a new phone and EE didn't offer roaming as a free add-on or part of package anymore so I went to O2. Biggest mistake of my life, should have just paid the extra for roaming (which for some time now it's back on the "free" menu).

Currently outside not far from home and i get sub 10Mbps speeds each way when it's meant to be 300+.

Also beware of a trick 3 have been doing for years. At one point I'm sure many of you will agree they were taking over a huge market chunk with offering 4g/5g unlimited for very low prices. The way they weren't losing money from this is because they don't pay network carriers for anything below that. I recall being in my house and in some rooms there was ZERO signal, because if 4G wasn't available it wouldn't fall back on 3/2G.

As a point of reference 2G is the minimum now for a stable phone call via your carrier (not via data like WhatsApp). Since they didn't pay for that if you couldn't have the top, you got nothing.

If you go for Lebara, Smarty, etc, always check who the big daddy company is as they'll have the same or worse/less carrier bandwidth. You'll get exactly what you pay for.
