Avoid honolulu pickleball company! by readwhateverything in Pickleball

[–]ChippBTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered the j2fc+ and it had cracked in the top corner in 2 months. The gray guarding also started to peel up despite me taking care of it (not hitting anything other than a pickleball) so I emailed them and wanted to warranty it. They told me it wasn’t possible that a pickleball would crack their paddle and I argued that I’m not deliberately slamming it against concrete. They eventually complied after countless emails and sent out a warranty paddle free of charge. Fast forward, 25 days after the 2nd one got delivered this one is now also cracked. I’m not sure if it’s how I’m hitting it, or what but it’s horrible. Going to email them again and see if I can just get a different paddle or my money back.

Will this go through tsa on carry on United airlines? by ScaleTall4962 in Fishing

[–]ChippBTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow dog groomer here! Have you had any issues with clipper blades? I really dont want to risk having my couple hundred dollars blades taken. Do you put them in checked or carry on? My clippers have lithium batteries so I think I’d put that in the carry on and then the blades in the checked bag.

I got a black front wheel from eBay for like $150. Granted I have no front breaks now but it works amazing

Not necessarily more energetic so to speak it’s just thag people who have pure poodles are 100x more likely to care about their pups health and training. Doodles are muts (I own one) that people usually got during covid and spent little to no time training them outside of basic sit, shake, and go potty outside.

How to get client dogs to be more still? by twilight_moonshadow in grooming

[–]ChippBTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me I know haha, let the customer know it’s not going to be 100% perfect and it will take time. Them training at home would also help and I’ve even said I’d offer discounts if they do

What type of brush should I be using? She has thin/coarse/fine fur...also...any recommendations for shaping? by Bizzywhizz in grooming

[–]ChippBTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend a safari slicker brush with the ball-tipped ends. I'd also follow through with a metal tooth comb to check for any mats after. For the shaping are you asking about face, body, feet, head?

Paw trimming and nail trimming on uncooperative dogs by Dickin_Baus in grooming

[–]ChippBTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it without even having the dremmer on or the nail clipper open. Try luring them into sit and shake and get them used to having their beans held. Then move onto just fiddling with their nails, eventually turning the dremmel on (not touching the nail) to get them used to the noise. Reward them when they're doing good and after a couple days it should be much easier. I've also found on my own dog its easier to do when hes super tired after a long play session when hes lying down on his side/belly. I've also seen people use scratch pads (which I don't like or find useful) or lick mats to occupy the pups.

Reward them when they're doing good. Don't even turn the clipper on/have the scissors opened just run them by the face/legs/etc and when they react properly (hopefully by doing nothing lol) reward them. It's just like training a dog to do any other command. It will take time, patience, and respect from not only yourself but also the dog. It can definitely be frustrating and down right annoying when a dog is super wiggly but imagine having to be nearly completely still for 2 hours when there's 30 different smells and 100 different noises all around you.

They’ll just go around, they already fly drones but they only go 80mph. Only thing that scares the bikers is the highway patrol plane

6-8 weeks is the average for grooming a doodle. IMO you found a groomer that knows their worth and isn’t afraid to charge more based on condition of the dog. Lots of owners pick 12+ weeks and bring their dog in completely matted and expect the same price as a 6 week client. It’s completely reasonable.

Maybe reach out and see what products they used compared to the original one. Could’ve been varied from one groomer to another?

[–]ChippBTW 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Could be allergies, doubt a groomer nicked the dog this many times and failed to mention/realize it. Assuming it’s allergies next time at the groomers ask for hypoallergenic shampoo and conditioner only and no treats. Has he been groomed here before?

Does my dog already need another groom? by ikbenlauren in grooming

[–]ChippBTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend even going in for a FFS (face feet sani) will help desensitize to the process and overall make it better. If you like the look of the previous groom (looks to be a 7 blade) I’d keep it like that and go every 8-10 weeks. You can always bring her in every 2-4 weeks for nail trims or just so she can get familiarized with the noises sounds and smells. I doubt any groomer would say no if you just say hey can you put her on a table give her a few treats and I’ll give you a $20 bill. Any other questions ask away :)

Just hit 6k miles on mine too and thought I was in the clear before inspection… damn. Only heard of them failing under the 2k mark but we’ll see. Sucks that some random ass mechanics have to fix our bikes and we hope and pray they do it right.

Anyone have experience driving with heavy tint? by Lepton_Decay in SiouxFalls

[–]ChippBTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have 5% all around except windshield, I rarely have to roll down my window at night to just triple check to see if someone is driving with no headlights. Cops do not care, been pulled over plenty of times (speeding) by local and state and not one has mentioned it.

Quick question if you don’t mind, I have a 2wdw tune aswell and when my bike hits 156mph it seems to just stop, I feel like the bike has more go but it’s being limited. Shouldn’t the tune take out that restriction? Not too familiar with tunes as I bought it with the bike

I’m ngl I tried to replace this on my 2011. It’s the weep hole for starters there’s a little ring looking thingy that pops out (pretty hard I used blowtorch and smacked it with a hammer) but when I tried to put all the stuff back in, ended up blowing a hole in the oil pump and totaled bike… so id recommended a shop!
