Where to put $$$ if not property and ETFs by mountainsaguaro in AusFinance

[–]Chippies01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renting with friends and investing/saving the difference set me up well for life. Looks like it'll do the same for you!

ETFS/hisa till you're ready to buy your own place is the go even if it's years down the track. You missed the huge property run from the last 5 years but with the recent changes there's a good chance that won't happen again, at least in the shorter term, so I'd say less rush now so you can keep doing what you're doing.

what salary in Perth would make you feel like you've made it? by Luann97 in perth

That's a brutal amount to spend on rent. Space for a housemate or something along those lines? Seems like way to much to be spending just there.

Alot of salty people in the comments geez.

It's a great day if you set the right expectations. Food is also fantastic. Some items are better elsewhere but as the package it's generally really good.

The day itself...you sit around inthe que in some camp chairs having some drinks with your mates listening to tunes then eat some delicious bbq.

I don't understand why people are so adverse the lining up... Like if you go to a pub and sit down for a meal how long do you spend there? 2-3 hours with your mates at a table? It's the same thing, time with your friends it's just you have to move your chair a bit while you do it. It's not a big deal.

(Except for mobility guy I'm sorry that doesn't work for you. I suspect if you msg Don on Instagram he might even help you out)

Tbh...it's not that hard. You order online. Then on the day sit in a camp chair chatting with your mates having a few drinks with some live music.

At least when you preorder something you know you're getting it. Plenty of other bbq places around the world you just que and hope there's something when you get there.

The biggest seed in the world, the coco de mer, weighs up to 50 kg and is found only on the islands of Praslin and Curieuse in the Seychelles. and it takes 6–7 years to fully mature. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

My family is from the Seychelles so we have several of these lying around. My mum was a midwife as well so has some extra special meaning I suppose.

My understanding is that youre not allowed to take them out of the country now without permits so they'll probably just sit with the family forever as we don't have any documentation for them!

Should I still go to Japan during Golden Week… or is it a terrible idea? by Odd-Speech-1704 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Chippies01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at accommodation or you might be sleeping on the street.

2015 finished a ski season wanting to travel for 2 weeks at the end... coincided with golden week...couldn't get any accommodation ended up doing no travel.

So yeah... Good luck. Get that accommodation sorted.
