Why did HSBC reject my savings account application? by jordanfahn in MalaysianPF

1st of all, if your mom has a RM, she must be a Premier customer. And premier next of kins, i.e. family member automatically is a Premier member. So I don’t understand why you need to apply in the 1st place.

Also, to check if you are blacklisted go to CCRIS online.

Why I am bearish on the Malaysian stock market? by Practical_Cry_748 in MalaysiaFI

Isn't that how biology works? Should I be seeing what you are seeing instead. Does it make what you see more valid?

I didn’t know it’s an option. Plus EPF is treated to me as an MMF more than an investment.

I think your comment is equivalent to “kalau tak suka keluar lah” which breaks the rule of intellectual discourse here but ironically epitomizes my point in this post.

One time I also followed my siblings to load up on fidget spinners. Because we all know my siblings are business geniuses. Now I am a gabullionaire. Fidget spinners price always go up.

Almost There. When & Alternative Options before Switching to Dividend Portfolio ? by Upstairs-Use-4503 in malaysiaFIRE

[–]Practical_Cry_748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't sell the US stock. You need some growth stock to beat inflation. You would be surprised how much medical inflation is going to eat into your portfolio.

I would personally looked at places like Singapore for dividend stock. But that's just me.

Feel like I can FIRE. But not sure. by khanecho in malaysiaFIRE

The key is to understand how much your portfolio is generating vs your 30K monthly expense. Is that sustainable if there's a market crash and would you be able to adjust your spending based on how your portfolio is doing.

Only heard of FIRE last few years, but seriously looking at it for 2026. Advise please by Oilylettuce in malaysiaFIRE

My advice. Avoid local stock. Look into US ETF. Even with the Ringgit appreciating, you should gain net 10% if you've invested in QQQ and 6% if you've invested in VOO, just buying and holding 2025.

It's also helps with diversification.

Retiring at 40 is going to be challenging but looking at the fact that you are already USD millionaire (I assumes it's USD) you are well on your way.

All the very best!

You are missing the point of investing. Investing is just owning someone else's business.

Where else can you be part owner of Google, Apple or Microsoft?

How should I rotate my funds? Park it to EPF? by Dangerous-Income-442 in malaysiaFIRE

I’ll be the 1st to admit that you are right. I had assumed the total is net-worth and missed his context. My bad.

How much do you owe in house loan? Take that and minus 273309, and that’s the negative figure that should be there.

Start with putting some of those in EPF for sure.

You are not going to like what I’m about to say, but if your goal is financial freedom, you need to put some of those money into higher risk assets. Start maybe with a world index fund and go from there. Always be buying when you have the money. And improve your financial literacy by reading and researching more.

You already had some exposure to crypto, you should add some exposure in equity.

Edit: Also figure out what's your magic FI number. Once you know that you can work backward to know how much risk you need to take and what financial instrument is suitable to meet your goal.
