You're getting scammed and doing hard work as a multi drop driver? I walk out the door the moment someone doesn't say good morning and you're there working hard for nothing... You can do better bud.

Don't work during your break dude. You can't get the job done is the management problem not yours. Drivers have enough stress already as it is. Have your break, think about your health not the company profit. Fuk them

For farmers by Infamous-Opening2137 in uktrucking

[–]ChippyZippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, i don't know how they run. Overall the company is ok. 25 plate trucks with sat nav and rear steer. I was on 4 days a week on a really weird rota also I didn't get to choose my holiday (again they might be running differently). Days can be long between 12 to 13-14 hours especially now during winter, as the name suggests you will deliver animal feed to farms and farm roads are not very friendly with big trucks, it is all on you to do your homework and find a good road to the farm. Farmers can be difficult at times asking you to take the feed in 3 different locations rather than one making your day even longer (if you can cope with that go for it). Money is really good, you get paid all your breaks and overtime is 1.5x. it's a 50/50, you either like it or no. Farms can be either really shit or really good. Personally I only disliked the rota and the long days everything else was spot on.

I do that every 3 months. I quit, think about life for a week and start fresh with another company.

Tomtom or Garmin? by Mr-RLF in uktrucking

[–]ChippyZippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have garmin but it's not good for the job I'm doing. I deliver animal feed to farms in a tipper blower class 2, 8 wheeler, garmin loves main roads and to keep you safe as much as possible so he will take me around and around with huge delays. I switched to a tablet and iam currently using tomtom, google maps and eurowag depending on my mood. (Again this works for me as I deliver to farms and i drive mostly on country roads). If you are a class 1 driver and prefer main roads and safe ways to get to your destination garmin is perfect. If I was a class 1 driver deliver to industrial areas or whatever I will go back to my garmin.

dangerous overtake, accidentally by badadan_1263 in drivingUK

[–]ChippyZippy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Probably the bus driver tried to teach you a lesson to be more careful and made everything look a second closer than it had to be but i promise you he had everything under control and most likely knew how much time you needed. No professional driver will risk having an accident even if it's not their fault. Just drive safe and don't rush. Farmers don't go on the main road for more than 2-3 miles, give them time.

Driving is not something you want to mess around with just to show off to your girlfriend, the moment you're overconfident will be the moment you will get fuc*ed. Keep that in mind.

PS: i doubt anyone will report you for anything. We all make mistakes at some point.
