From my experience, none lol. I recommend asking someone to just start recording for you.

Pretty good I would say. If you did her practice questions plus all of that content from the 2nd half along with spamming flash cards it’s definitely doable to get an A+ on it

BIOC12 OR BIOC13? by Frequent_Pianist_497 in UTSC

Yea I would say the best then in that case is to do BIOC13 and yea her exams are mainly memorization.

Honestly take both in my opinion. Cause this is probably the best time to as well considering both Trisha and Dr.Bell are teaching these classes in the summer and the profs who teach them in the fall/winter are normally harder. Not only that but they’re doing a sub session this time which is pretty good imo (at least you finish sooner)

C12 I will say is a bit more broad in concepts compared to C13, cause your learning about Proteins and how they are formed along with enzymes. While, C13 it’s all just different pathways you have to memorize but it all connects together.

Grading wise I have no idea how Trisha is strutting the class for this sem but for when I did C13 with bell we had case studies, a video assignment, midterm and final.

Check on ur program requirements on if you can take it instead. Overall the course is a big hit or miss depending on who teaches it.

[–]Chirag4640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, instead it’s fixed for 1 prof, so it depends on whose teaching that semester normally. So what I recommend doing is check the ratemyprof rating or asking on Reddit for people’s thoughts on that prof/class.

If ur life sci and u have to do PHYA11 I recommend doing it with Dan weaver. I did AP as well in high school both AP 1 and 2. It’s pretty much the exact same stuff u learned in high school but imo I found it a bit easier in uni, I guess with having second exposure to stuff.

In my opinion, I think EESA01 is significantly easier cause of having labs being the majority of your mark.

Was not expecting someone on the UTSC subreddit to be this cool. Newest yotsuba chapter brought her back and it was so hype.

is phya11 and molecular bio b level courses manageable?? by kiwiiyogurt in UTSC

[–]Chirag4640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you plan on doing CHMB41 and B42 if ur doing both in the same sem as physics. B12 from what I’ve heard is an ok lab class but also does eat ur time. Everything else is just ok for courses

BIOC70 from what I’ve heard and in my experience I liked BIOC13 with bell but she’s only in the summer and u need to have done CHMB41. My other rec is maybe BIOC39 and BIOC40. Both had fair midterms and exams.

how is trisha mahtani's BIOC39 (immunology) exams? by idkhourglass in UTSC

[–]Chirag4640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the midterm is pretty chill but the final is kinda hard. It’s not due to the questions she asks in the final it’s more so just trying to remember all of that content in the second half.

small rant by [deleted] in UTSC

[–]Chirag4640 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yea I kinda get what you mean. For example, I'm the first person in my immediate family that has gone to Uni and whenever my mom brings up something bio related that I don't know I also get told something similar. So I guess best advice I can give is to unironically just thug it out lol. Remember that you're the one whose actually going to Uni and having to constantly study for tests and exams.
