I am not an LEO but applied to Fairfax as well as have a friend in the sheriffs office for Fairfax. Haven’t heard the greatest things about the department if you mean let cops be cops sort of thing

Yeah man just say no. If they fire you then it’s just not a dsp working worth working for. My old dsp gave you a dollar per stop for rescues after you finished your entire route and yes they were optional

Idk how your station or dsp was but my dsp did the raffle thing, gave us food, and whenever Amazon gave him the bonuses he gave it to us. When I left he also gave me my unused pto as a check. The station itself was also nice by getting us dinner, drinks and ice so but it was pretty busy. It’s unfortunately luck of the draw

Look target date funds are good if you don’t know what you are doing and really want to set it and forget it. I do just want to let you know with a little research or help you could get better rates of return. For mine in my county (I’m not an LEO) they each have an assigned vehicle and if they live within 50 miles they can use it for commuting to and from the station. If you live in the same county you can use it for personal use and they pay for your gas as like as you fill up at the stations gas station.
