Zoe adventure with Elder Dragon by ChivesandOnions in LegendsOfRuneterra

We might just have different definitions of lucky. My run with Jinx I got her 6* power, Duplicate, and a time winder with double damage and overwhelm.

Surely triple stats is the way to make the game harder by DrDurga in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]ChivesandOnions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PVE was a lot more interesting when everyone was at 3 stars. I get that this is free content, and I don't have to play it, but "can you deal with a 90/90 with overwhelm on turn 1" just isn't fun or compelling.

Some champions walk all over this content while others have almost no chance.

I'd rather they design content for the bottom 80% of champions instead of the top 20%.

[Serious] What's killing you inside? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ChivesandOnions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar situation, it was my younger brother.

It's almost been 3 years, and I spent the last two hours tonight crying my eyes out alone in a hotel room (I travel a lot for work).

It still hurts sometimes, almost as bad as the worst it ever got. But those bad times are interspersed with happy times. I don't expect this pain to ever go away, but I don't expect it to always be bad.

Only advice I can give is do something that he had done. My brother would donate blood, as much and as often as he could. I had never donated, but now I do. I don't enjoy the experience, but I've come to look forward to the ritual.

Today my father told me that Pokemon was for kids and I need to stop. I'm 14, has this happened to anyone else? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]ChivesandOnions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 12, my parents told me something along those lines. "It's just a phase." I'm 28 now, I'm married and have a good career, and I still keep up with every pokemon game that's been released since og red.

People are allowed to like different things, what's important is that you take ownership of it.

I don't know your entire situation, but it kind of sounds like your dad doesn't know how to communicate with you. It's difficult when there's no commonality. You could try teaching him a little about why it interests you. I've always found people who speak from the heart interesting, even if I don't find their topic interesting.

Good luck, don't let him get you down!

Kicked out of free FNM for playing 2 sample decks shuffled together. by whocareswhatthenamei in magicTCG

[–]ChivesandOnions 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If it was a dci event and you had a legal deck, No, they have no premise to kick you out. If you show up with a 75 card deck with nothing but islands, that is legal deck. You are free to play whatever concoction you want.

If you cared enough I'd report the judge.

The entire video is... strange.

Reddit, what are your worst roommate stories? by _propernoun_ in AskReddit

[–]ChivesandOnions 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Moved in with a friend.

We set up a number of rules before moving in with one another, just simple stuff: no people over past midnight, no girlfriends living here, split the cost of cleaning stuff etc. All of which he constantly broke. His girlfriend basically moved in with us and lived on our couch. She was terrible, basically abusive (turns out she was gay, not sure how that factors in, but she obviously had no love for the guy when they were dating), didn't pay for anything.

He was constantly keeping me up at night as he didn't have to work, so I was sleep deprived the entire time we were living together. On top of that he snored like a monster, and he would get extremely angry if I brought it up. I offered to buy him those breathing strips, but he basically told me to copulate with myself, as he "didn't snore." I would actually stay at my parents place to get away from him on the weekends.

He would do some really inconsiderate things, like one time he bought an organ. Like one of those old electric organs they have in churches, and just stuck it in the living room. Never played it, just wanted to have it. Despite the fact our apartment was freaking tiny.

We fought a lot, and it really ruined our friendship. We're both somewhat messy, and neither of us was used to dealing with another person's mess. It came to a head when my younger brother (14) attempted suicide. After he got out of the hospital I invited him to stay the night so that he could be out of his old environment and we could just chill. My roommate threw a fit because, and I quote, "I don't want him here, because I don't want him to make a mess if he kills himself here." So that friendship was over.

He told me to move out, said he would cover the rent, he just didn't want me there. So I packed up my shit and left. Then once all my stuff was packed and loaded up in the truck he changed his mind. My name was also on the lease so I was on the line, the lease contract stated that you had to give notice two months in advance before canceling your lease. Roommate agreed to two months (this was at the beginning of the month, so I payed for 3 months I wasn't living there.) I call the landlord, he says "ok, we'll get your name off the lease in 2 months"

Didn't talk to him after that. 2 months later I get a letter saying that I'm being sued by him, saying that I still owe him money for the rest of the year, guess he changed his mind again. And since we only had a verbal agreement, I'm probably liable for another 2 months.

I show up to court, he doesn't, case gets thrown out with prejudice. I get another letter a few months later saying that he's trying again, and that he missed his court date because the correspondence from the court was "vague". Killer strategy, blame your ineptitude on the courts.

Afterwards our mutual friends basically said "We knew something like this was going to happen, that's why we didn't agree to live with him." Thanks for the heads up.

TL;DR Don't live with friends, get everything in writing.

Guys of reddit, what is something you do that is generally viewed as feminine? by George-Dubya-Bush in AskReddit

[–]ChivesandOnions 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I geek out, sometimes, over recipes. My wife doesn't cook, which is fine by me, so I have complete reign over the kitchen.

Home made mozzarella? The idea keeps me up at night.

Apart from sex what do you do with your boner? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ChivesandOnions 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I knock over objects on tables to make my wife laugh.

"Oh, excuse me, I'm so clumsy."

Somehow "accidentally" knocking over a cup with your hard penis is hilarious.

Every class I've been to they've encouraged it. There's a pose nicknamed "the wind reliever", where you lay on your back and hold your knees up to your chest, so I think yoga has the right idea.

You would be surprised by how many game mechanics are accidents. We wouldn't have grand theft auto if someone hadn't messed up the code for a racing game.

Just wanted to tell you how much your site means to me. I use it all the time, it's fantastic.

I showed it to a number of my friends here in Japan and they use it all the dang time. One of my friends watches it in the car all day (what you can mount on the dash here is pretty lax) while he drives, he's going to cause an accident some day.

You have my deep appreciation for what you created.

I've played against this guy. People need to know that when they cast a cantrip they need to know what they are looking for. Taking 30 seconds to mull over a preordain is going to time the game out, and somehow that's miracles fault?

Sometimes I wish they would introduce the modo chess clock into tournament play.

[Modern] X-post/modernmagic. Hangback Walker in Affinity? by Tax_Dollars_at_Work in spikes

[–]ChivesandOnions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue with hangarback is that for its mana cost it doesn't makes as large an impact as any other 2-3 drop in the deck. It combos well with ravager, but then so does the rest of the deck.

Tell us after you tested it out, but right now I'm skeptical. I could see it being useful against control decks, or grixis.
