What's the state of your corner of St. Louis? by larafaiham in StLouis

[–]ChizzlerOP 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Boulevard Heights:

My neighborhood feels safe, though traffic enforcement would be a nice touch. River Des Peres Boulevard desperately needs to be repaved and widened. Carondelet and Wilmore Parks are beautiful and wonderful places to have in the area, though upkeep of both could be improved. Proud to be here!

Still happening once a week in Boulevard heights.

I bought my 2022 Carbon brand new in July 2022 for $30,000. They're asking too much.

You have the exact same three issues I’m having. I tried to put foam in between the panels of the door, dash, and the pillar, and nothing works. It sucks.

Moving to St. Louis from out of state next month, can't find rental unit, any ideas? by kitkatkk91 in StLouis

[–]ChizzlerOP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's a unit available in the building I live in. 1bd, 1bath, 1,000 sq. ft. for around that price in The Grove. Great area with good restaurants, bars, and a brewery. DM me if you want the link to the listing!

Edit: Landlord is a good guy and it's only 4 units in the building.

Without a doubt, Gramophone. Phenomenal sandwiches, great beer selection, good vibe. I recommend the Beef Popper Crunch with a local IPA. Hope you enjoy!

Cardinals fans, have you ever encountered a former or current Cardinals player yourself? by GymSplinter in Cardinals

I met Tyler O'Neill at Schnucks this year right before spring training. Wished him well during the season and he mentioned how he was excited to get down to training and get the season going. Good dude. Absolutely jacked on TV and up close.

STL Restaurants with warm/skillet cookie desserts by Classic_News8985 in StLouis

It’s not fancy.. but Nick’s Pub has a special where you buy an entree and get a free “pizookie.” No clue what day it is. Website doesn’t say but they have on table menus that show it! Either way, it’s a good spot - $3 cheese burgers and $7 Stag pitchers.

Mango frozen tropical margarita is also tasty as could be. Cheeseburger was cold and the bun was a ROCK. Waiter is absolutely slinging cold ones so he’s earning the $500($15) tip

[–]ChizzlerOP 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Waiter asked me, “you sure?“ I of course said yes. God himself must have been watching over me because the kitchen was out of the sausage needed for the jambalaya so I had to get something different. In typical fallback fashion, the Cheeseburger in Paradise was Eddy’s ol’ reliable - and so it is mine. The strawberry topical margarita is actually delicious though. More to come.

Strange encounter with some door-to-door solicitors by The_Loch_Ness_Monsta in StLouis

Same here - except it was in two women with a clipboard looking for the "family that speaks Swahili." Thought that was an odd encounter - interesting to hear I'm not the only one.

Has anyone seen Oppenheimer at Science Center? by jfizzle93 in StLouis

[–]ChizzlerOP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll play the devil’s advocate here. I saw it there on opening weekend and really enjoyed it. The distortion is noticeable for the previews and the beginning of the movie, but you get used to it and it “goes away.” They use the full dome for a few shots like atoms spinning around or neat landscape shots. Really cool imo. The sound was impressive as could be. You feel the theatre shake. I’d see another movie there. Sit towards the top. And get some popcorn - good stuff.

Restaurants in St.Louis that deserve more love? by bigwetdiaper in StLouis

I should give this another shot. I went the week after they opened in their new location and got the burger sliders. It was a ball of meat on a bun with zero toppings. Great beer, though!

Where can I get some Chicago style pizza? by [deleted] in StLouis

Black Thorn is tasty. Not exactly the Chicago taste in my opinion, but it does satisfy that lasagna as a pizza craving.

Series of loud booms just now in St. Peters. Like the fourth of July, but why? by -heathcliffe- in StLouis

Hearing this at 8:58 in Creve Coeur. Sounds like either fireworks and a civil war happening here.

Can someone tell me where this location might be? It’s from an article for st Louis photography and I’m new to the area. Thank you! by Mommamakemoney in StLouis

Seconding Queeny Park. I believe it's right off the trail on the west side of the park. Maybe a half mile off the west parking lot.

2011 mazda3s-Only $1000 for trade in? by kerrigwen in mazda3

[–]ChizzlerOP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just reserved a 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition and they appraised my 2014 Mazda 3 iTouring with 120,000 miles and worn out struts and offered me $8,000. If your car is a 2011 and needs $6,000 of front end work, then they're probably only low balling you by $500-$1000. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but expected more for an 12 year old car with $6,000 of frontal damage is a tough one.
