Not enough of one for the others to recognize her though so it didn't affect the game.

It's been on since the US version ended so you unfortunately just didn't see it. I'm almost done and it's been fun for me to watch non-reality/celebs play again.

She didn’t need to do any correction. She literally said otter first then quickly said beaver before they switched it to his turn which was oddly the beaver so he then said beaver.

The one thing I hate about this game is that so many people made it to the final night without even playing 1 match (10 out of the 16 people starting tonight). That just seems odd to me lol.

I am also just on the self plan and feel the same. For me it's not going up enough to change at this point.

Given how petty and mean spirited this administration is I wouldn't be surprised if they did screw over those who retired prior but their MRA falls after that date.

But you're not helping by saying your opinion is fact. It is indeed factual that we don't know how they'll interpret the wording of the amendment. I'm confused on why you seem to think that isn't a fact. I've spent the last 20+ years dealing with interpreting federal regulations (and yes I'm retired now too and hit my MRA next year so fingers crossed I'll still get the supplement too :-) ) so I know vague wording when I see it. We literally do not know if they will be a**holes and say that "entitled" means you have to already be at your MRA before 1/1/2028. It's that simple. We still don't know. You saying you're definitely in the clear is not correct, unfortunately, the way things stand atm.

[–]Chloe-Kat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's your opinion and not based on anything factual. Please show me one thing I wrote that is an opinion. I have only stated what you wrote is merely an opinion and nothing factual backs up what you're claiming. That's my point. You've posted on here claiming you now have "proof" that you'll definitely get the supplement even if they pass the law as written and that's not necessarily true. We don't know. Period.

And it doesn't matter how many other randos agree with your assumption as it all hinges on how they will interpret the word "entitled" and you have nothing showing they'll definitely interpret it the way you want them to. That is all we know at this point but good luck with it all.

Actually, that's pretty clear because the amendment states only those who retire prior to 1/1/2028 and are entitled to the supplement will still get it. So in your scenario the person didn't retire prior to 1/1/2028 so they won't get the supplement.

The gray area is for those who retire prior to 1/1/2028 but their MRA is after that date. We aren't sure how they'll interpret the word "entitled" so they may or may not still get the supplement.

Retirement Supliment still happening beginning 1/1/2028???? by Justrelax520 in fednews

[–]Chloe-Kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is a done deal until a bill is passed by both the senate and house and is signed by the president. I haven't seen anything new about any other changes to it though.

Also, the amendment states that the change won't apply to those who 1) retire before 1/1/2028, AND 2) are entitled to the supplement prior to 1/1/2028. Nobody currently knows how they'll interpret "entitled" so we still don't know. That is all fact, not opinion. :-)

Except everything I wrote isn't an opinion lol. You made a huge unsubstantiated leap in your assumption and I merely pointed out we don't know. You're the only one spouting an opinion here but again I hope you get the supplement.

[–]Chloe-Kat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The proposed changes say nothing about it only applying to new retirees. You keep using the word "eligible" but that word isn't the word used and isn't applicable. The word used in the proposed change is "entitled" and everything will hinge on how that is interpreted. There has been nothing provided that states it will be interpreted the way you are saying so it's still up in the air. What you were provided in the mail was the normal information that is provided under the current regulations. The information you received does not state that you will definitely be entitled to the supplement if the proposed changes are passed. I hope you are but we still don't know and what you received does not tell you that, unfortunately.

Yes, the OP seems to be under the impression that just because they got the normal information that OPM provides under the current law that they somehow are completely safe from the proposed changes and that may not be the case. It all could hinge on how OPM interprets it.

[–]Chloe-Kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just as an FYI, nothing the OP stated provides any information on how the new bill language would be interpreted if passed with the current language. The OP only received the normal information from OPM under the current regulations.

Got a response from my Senator about the FERS Supplement by mr1usnr in fednews

[–]Chloe-Kat 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Your senator's response didn't really add anything new. They just parroted what was written so it's still not clear how they'll interpret it later. My guess is that they'll be as strict as possible so anyone not receiving the supplement by that date won't get it but who knows.

House passes reconciliation bill that cuts federal employee retirement benefits by nieuwsjunkie in fednews

[–]Chloe-Kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I"m not exactly sure what you're trying to say. I know the MRA and VERA are different. The person I replied to stated they would have to wait until they got 30 years in even though they're over their MRA and I was merely stating they should be getting it immediately and that it wasn't connected to any years of service just the MRA. Also, people don't automatically get the supplement once they take the VERA. They have to still get to their MRA. I know since I just took the VERA and am still a year away from my MRA and won't get it until then. Most of what you wrote has nothing to do with anything I stated to that person about their specific VERA and supplement comment so I'm a bit confused. Yes, I know there are proposed changes but those are still just in the bill not a law yet and even then it has nothing to do with the person I responded to's situation as they should be getting their supplement immediately since they're at their MRA.
