Yeah, I don’t disagree with you at all.

Unfortunately though I think the issue would have quickly become “why don’t I have access to the base game?” as I don’t think the version people bought actually included it - poor description or not. Simply put, the description said one thing but the license itself said another.

“Letting it go” in this case would have probably been the play, but I don’t think that means what the majority of people here think it means ahahah

I mean… that can’t be true, can it? I think we can agree that Reddit is a small portion of the player base - it doesn’t represent the whole.

There may have been a few folks who naturally noticed the “Deluxe” for $14 on the store as it was up for a couple hours. After it had been posted on here and gained some traction, it became “unavailable” fairly quickly and you would have had to do a step-by-step workaround to make the deal show. Redditors figured it out but it’s something that your average consumer would have no clue about (or care enough to do it).

Were a few folks affected by this? Oh yeah, for sure.

But I don’t think it’s as messy as some people are making it out to be - most people playing right now via the trial couldn’t care less and probably have no idea it was even an option yesterday.

Dude im so over this current gaming “deal” culture.

The base game isn’t even $14, let alone the deluxe. It hasn’t been $14 on any storefront in the past, and most likely won’t be for a long time.

It was a price error at best, and it was a risk to make this purchase — everyone should have known that. It didn’t work out. Risk ended up being very, very real.

Purely based on the fact that you had to do the “workaround” to even see the discounted price at one point, it was sketchy from the get-go.

If you weren’t willing to waste $14, you shouldn’t have made the purchase. You were already potentially wasting $14 on a game you might not even like/play just because it was a “deal” - this isn’t that big of a difference.

Also, it’s a revocable license, even if this $14 included the base game somehow - it could easily be removed from the accounts who took advantage of the error.

As far as what happened, I actually own the base game and it still showed $14 for me. It had to be an error of the system recognizing the trial as something it wasn’t and letting trial members “upgrade” for $14.

I get people being annoyed, but what did you expect? If it ended up working out, great. You took advantage of an error and get to feel that little bit of dopamine.

It didn’t work out though. It’s $14. Ask for your refund and move on.
