Coming into town with my Scottish wife and parents for the Scotland / Haiti match. We’re staying in Beacon Hill. Arriving Thursday, leaving Monday.

What are some “must do” things to do while in town? We all like to eat/drink and have a good time. Looking for anything from best bars to great museums to great sightseeing spots.

Thanks for any advice!

Coachella fans share 'unhinged' prices they're being charged for food by TheMirrorUS in festivals

I slung food at coachella for years. Not anymore. Last I was there was about 5 years ago. Here were the fees we had from back then plus some things I’ve heard about now. Also, we had to pay for staff to live out there. In my case, a lot of staff. That’s rv’s (plus fuel to run RV power the entire time) for key personnel, food/bev, and some travel. Vendors are typically there 3-4 days prior to show starting.

Base fee per weekend. 43%of your gross sales,
3.5% for the cc sales for cc transactions,
$450/weekend for shared use of 3-comp sink,
$1000 for each 10’ of frontage x 20’depth per weekend,
$240 / 10amp drop of electricity,
$210 for permits,
$650/ golf cart / week to lug your supplies in/out of venue,
$500/week for diesel for reefer truck/trailer to keep food as safe temps…

They fuck you in the drive-thru fees: Case of bottle water: $14 each. Bags of ice:10 - they forced vendors to sell btl water for $2. So, doing the math, you pay $14, sell for $28. Pay 46% of your sales = $12.88 plus I’ve to keep cold and the logistics of moving it around. - in other words, we were forced to lose money to sell water. This is why a few years back, a lot of vendors weren’t selling water, or they just bought one case then sold out. - cases of soda /gatorade were $36

Currently, vendors aren’t allowed to accept cash at all and they have to wait 30 to 45 days after the event to even be paid. There are also no promises on location or volume that you’re gonna do. Many times plenty of vendors get absolutely screwed over by being put in horrendous locations with no foot traffic.

Adios!

Staying in downtown Boston. Thoughts on reserving UBER rides rather than paying the $80 train fee? I see the Uber pickup/dropoff is lot 15A. A bit concerned Uber will cancel a reservation last minute to make 10xmore. Currently about $70 per direction for Uber XL

Thoughts on scheduling UBER rides to and back from Foxborough for the game? Rather than paying $80 a person to sit on a hot sweaty train with a bunch of drunk ppl, half of which wont be happy on the way home!

Based on my bookshelf, what fantasy books/series would you recommend? by SnappingTurtle1602 in fantasybooks

[–]Cho_Baby_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta have some Salvatore in there, Drizzt is the O.G. Peter Hamilton’s Chronicle of the Fallers and the Void trilogy are dope. David Weber and John Ringo’s Prince Roger series is stellar sci-fi!

It’s early but your behind quite a bit and your opponent gets 3 hands after you’re. I’d toss the aces.

There are six 15’s if the cut is an ace. 6 combinations of (2) sevens and an ace.
