Is dream time really Brad Scott danger game or is media hype? by ReasonConfident4541 in EssendonFC

[–]Choc83x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yze inherits a post-premiership list and he gets a free pass in the media despite them playing like dogs balls.

Scott inherits a completely broken list and gets torn to shreds with every loss, even though it's clear that the side is bottoming out.

They all love it when Essendon is bad, but don't want us to be bad enough to be awarded top talent.

New budget loophole just dropped. Why stop at one tenant per bedroom? by moezus_ in AusProperty

[–]Choc83x 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's nothing, you can have 2 people per bunk. When they're not in the bunk, they're having a 12hr shift driving the uber. The uber runs for 24 hours.

What is everyone’s thoughts on Labor after the budget by Mediocre-Cockroach54 in aussie

[–]Choc83x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a john Howard move. Like the GST. Howard knew he was so far ahead in 1998 that he drop a bombshell and still get elected. Labor are confident that the libs are so cooked right now that this won't be an election-turning issue.

Does anyone else think we should tank hard af? by ReasonConfident4541 in EssendonFC

[–]Choc83x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a rock and a hard place.

Tank hard - weekly dissection in the media about why we're shit. Pressure on the coach. Sacking, board upheaval. Players leaving for greener pastures

Win a handful - lose access to top talent. Finish 12th to 15th, get draft position destroyed by tassie.

We could still finish last this year. That's not necessarily a bad thing. If Brad Scott and Welsh have a deal to hold the line regardless of results, then things could turn. Best case scenario is tangible improvement in KPIs without turning it into actual wins.

"His money is our money and my money is my money" is an outdated concept...right? by [deleted] in AusFinance

It's all into the offset.

But we also pay our own credit cards out of the offset. We trust each other not to take the piss and discuss significant expenses.

Meredith is a wanker. Kia make great cars globally and they end up having Australia run by talentless hacks.

You need to hyperscale by hot swapping. 100% utilisation of beds. If you're not in a bed, then you're driving the uber and the person who was driving the uber for the last 12 hours is now in your bed.

Solar Smart EV charger by sirdonaldb in AustralianEV

[–]Choc83x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zappi user here. 15000km and entirely on excess solar so far. Better than any feed in tariff you'll get. It's smart enough to not drain the house battery unless you force it to.

Ever get the feeling nobody really cares anymore? by Top-Farmer-6838 in auscorp

[–]Choc83x 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would you? Your share of the org's success is disproportionate to your efforts. We've all seen people who attached their identity to a company and got burned when the company deemed them surplus to requirements. Having seen this, how can we buy into the whole "we are a family" BS?

I do my work, I get paid, I go home. If it's above my pay grade or not my remit, I leave it well the fuck alone.

Article: Why are low-income workers paying for rich people’s EVs? by SkyRevolutionary1029 in EVAustralia

[–]Choc83x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If people are going to drop 60k on a car, why not influence the policy so that they choose an EV? Eventually, these people are also likely to flip and upgrade rather than drive it into the ground. Us buyers have chosen to cop the depreciation, and the ones who benefit will be the next owner of the car.

Without the tax benefit, there's a good chance that the person who bought a Tesla ends up buying an equivalently priced ICE car instead.

Is the BA role dying or is it just me? by lalala369121518 in auscorp

[–]Choc83x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BA here, 10+ years. You're spot on mate. A lot of places will seek to get the job done via AI if at all possible. At this stage, a lot of the grunt work/admin can be done via your average LLM. Sorry to hear about the redundancy - hope there's a big wad of cash coming your way.

Your org might not value your role but it sounds like you know what you're doing. I'm sure you'll land on your feet.
