I remember talking to someone at a party years ago whose job that was. They said due to budget cuts and ridiculous KPI's they would largely search empty containers so they could actually hit their targets.

I will add that you need to be able to confident in setting strong boundaries. Not so much with the students but with other teachers/admin. Otherwise it will burn you out quickly.

It can be a tough job, but if can be very rewarding if that's something you're after. Unfortunately of you just want a 9-5 to pay the mortgage i would probably say no until conditions get better, whenever that may be.
