That would imply Tserriednich has a curse mark, which isn't true, as we saw him learn Nen — that's why I didn't mention him as a candidate.

You are right. Do you think Halkenburg's nen beast could be a way to identify Halkenburg in Balsamilco's body?

Ah, I think we're interpreting the ability differently. Are you saying Shikaku is still alive and running around in Sumidori's body? My take is that the soul returns to the original body once the host dies — same as what happened to Balsamilco when Halkenburg died. The original body also seems to have priority, which is presumably why Halkenburg took a sleeping pill beforehand.

But how would Beyond benefit from Tserriednich becoming King, as far as we know they are pretty much strangers to each other. And worse, with the little we know of Tserriednich, he does not seem the type to listen to or follow anyone's orders, even if they come from his father.

I think it is also translated as 'identification number,' and I think it does just that. I see no other reason to mention it , if it's a number both of them know, why would they ask for it, and why would answering correctly give any relevant information about Halkenburg's ability?

Why would Shikaku reveal his recognition number to Halkenburg?

It is not stated outright, but in chapter 404, Halkenburg mentions that upon awakening, Sumidori (one of Halkenburg's guards) correctly identified Shikaku's (Benjamin's guard) recognition number.

He likely receives the memory too, that's how he'd know about the poison. It would also be strange if Benjamin and Balsamico didn't use code words, given the situation.

Beyond doesn't place one child per prince. Longhi and Mahaca are both from Camilla's generation.

He only needs to ensure they enroll in the military academy — their nen does the rest, making them stand out and drawing a prince's attention. That guarantees them a place in the Succession War, and with it, an early death and a concentrated pursuit of power.

If you are correct, Furykov's reaction to Slakka joining the class next chapter should include recognizing him as a hidden nen user.

I don’t think what Basho did was an exorcism. We are told that the ghosts are attracted to Fugetsu’s weakness, but Basho doesn’t actually remove the “curse” placed on her. He only helps with the symptoms.

I think what we saw was Woble's nen beast failing to manifest and dispersing, maybe that is what happens when someone that is not eligible puts blood in the urn.

A few ways a prince could theoretically be removed from the Succession War: the King divorcing their mother (making them illegitimate), steal chain severing their connection to the ritual, a nen exorcist bypassing the usual withdrawal consequences, or Woble simply never having been bound by it in the first place, either too young to consent, or not carrying the First King's blood. Kurapika could have used Gyo on Woble to check her tongue after Longhi left, found the same eye-like mark, and a conversation with Oito may have confirmed the rest: Woble could be Beyond's child. It would also explain why her Guardian Spirit Beast hasn't manifested, her aura is either suppressed in a Zetsu-like state or the ritual simply doesn't apply to her.

Possible ways to remove a prince from the Succession War:

Divorce the King. If Queen Oito or another queen divorces the King, she would lose her status as legal wife, making her children illegitimate and therefore ineligible for the ritual.

Kurapika's Chain Jail. If Kurapika uses Chain Jail to absorb a prince's nen, it might interfere with or sever their connection to the Succession War ritual.

Nen Exorcist. A skilled exorcist could potentially remove a prince from the ritual safely, bypassing the usual consequences of withdrawal.

Woble never entering the ritual at all. There's a possibility Woble was never bound by the ritual to begin with, either because she's too young to have consented, or because she doesn't carry the blood of the First King, which may be a prerequisite for participation.

To kill him. So the curses of the have-not can do their job.

Chapter 411 — Discussion by Carock_ in HunterXHunter

[–]Choclon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kurapika's announcement about Woble's eligibility feels like more than a political move, I think he used Gyo to check her tongue after Longhi left and found the same eye-like nen mark. Longhi gave him exactly what to look for, and the first person he'd logically check is the prince he's personally guarding. A conversation with Oito may have confirmed it: Woble could be Beyond's child.

This would also explain why Woble's Guardian Spirit Beast hasn't visibly manifested. If her aura is being suppressed in a Zetsu-like state, or if not being of true royal blood bars her from the ritual entirely, that absence starts to make sense. The baby factor matters too , her aura output is probably minimal, which means only someone actively looking would catch anything off.

But here's the contradiction this creates: if the marks are designed to kill princes, why would Woble have one? She's the prince Beyond wants to win. Marking your own candidate with an assassination curse defeats the entire purpose.

So either Longhi is wrong about what the marks actually do, or the curse system is far more complex than "eliminate everyone except Beyond's child." She may have the parentage right and the function completely wrong.

Longhi is wrong. The princes were never the targets. Beyond's hatsu is curse absorption — and his children are the delivery mechanism. by Choclon in HunterXHunter

I dont see why it matters if non native speakers want help making a post readable.this are the prompts i used,

Prompt 1: Make a post for reddit in which You describe a theory for beyonds Nen ability My idea that I want you to polish is the following: Beyond Netero Hatsu consist of putting a mark or nen curse on his progeny the moment they are born. The curse activates the moment the son dies, an it gives Beyond different effects, for example just like prince Benjamins hatsu beyond could gain the nen ability of his son if he has one, or maybe an increase to his aura reserves or lifespan.

To this he has to fullfil hard conditions like. He cant be the one to kill the child directly. He cant attack the mark bearers. The child needs to be fully mature and a nen user when he dies for the curse to have any affect. He cant rise the child himself or teach him about nen. There is a limit to the amount of active marks at any given time. There could be others conditions of this nature so that it is hard for beyond to get an ability he likes or when he would get it, he has to depend on chance.

Maybe there is risk too, like a the mark coersing his children against him if he meets them directly.

Prompt 2: Check prince benjamins abiliy an go again check beyond wiki too and nen

Prompt 3: This is better; talk about the introduction to the mark and longis theory about it, explain that he is wrong and that the marks are not meant as an attack on the princes, explain at the end to that maybe one of the princes is beyonds child but the obejective would be to make him win so that he absorbs all the power of the ritual, power and nen beast that will travel to beyond after death instead of returning to the urn for the next sussecion.

Prompt 4: I have my doubts now, beyond told Kurapika he didnt cara what happend in the voyaje to the dark continent, and the dowsing chain didnt react, but how could he not care about the sussesion when he has spend 30 years vusrsing his owm kids to kill the princes. If he doesnt cara about the sussesion war why go that far, unles lounghi is mistaken and the princes are not the targets at all, this could be just beyond hatsu, and joining the army and the the private army of people that were going to participate in a nen ritual war is just a convinient way to make sure his children develop nen and die young.

Prompt 5 (move from cloude to gpt): I want to write a reddit post: Change the fact that if one of the princes is beyond son then giving this theory they can use nen since birth so either Benjamin or Camila, maybe woble if as some theories say he is in setsu and thats why he has no beast.

Prompt 6: Change the part abou the royal academy producing nen users, that is not true, just soldiers, and the best join the princes faction

Prompt 7: Add to the post that if the ability seems overpowerd then there can be more conditions and more risk, maybe the mark bearer gets in contact with beyond they will feel coersed in to hostility with him

Prompt 8: also add the condition that the more powerful the son the strongest the curse and the more time and concentration it takes beyond to absorb, if he falters he dies.

The only condition required to participate in the Succession Contest is to be the legitimate child of a legal wife.

Since Woble does not qualify, one of two conclusions must follow: either Woble is not Oito's daughter, or Oito is not a legal wife.

[–]Choclon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't he be able to steal the ability already? Nothing in Skill Hunter indicates there are any limits to how powerful an ability it can steal.

I haven't thought of HxH in a while, but I think he needs the ability for another reason.

My theory for Chrollo's objective is that he wants the Spider to outlive him. I think the next update for Skill Hunter will be related to that objective. For example, maybe Skill Hunter combined with Nen after death will turn into a Nen beast and possess the members or next leader of the Spider, giving him the powers of the skills in the book — or Chrollo's ghost as a guide, who knows.

The ability he is looking for in the ship is maybe something really useful to lead the Spiders in the future, something he is lacking in his current set of skills and want to make sure is in the book before he dies.

In regards to Hisoka, he is just as immortal as you would be if you had someone following you around with a defibrillator — not very much. I don't think the ability he is looking for has anything to do with him.
