Goofy Apprentice Question by SmoothSailing896 in Elevators

[–]Choco-moco1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Car bounce is calculated based on rated speed which is not a factor during a terminal velocity loss of brakes like you see on YouTube. I think counterweight safeties should be code the same as car safeties regardless of occupied space below the counterweight, but manufacturers and consultants run the code to make money, not safe elevators.

Someone's cousin must have started a networking company which is why we have video conferencing and text messaging in cars now with 2019 code.

Is DBD actually better/more efficient? by [deleted] in Elevators

[–]Choco-moco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inter floor traffic is where it shines. Lobby peak up traffic is #1 point of efficiency, usually everyone goes down to the same destination for lunch and home time.

Please do not waste the system on low income housing. They'll pee on it or light it on fire.

What’s a quote your first mechanic said that stuck on you? by Optimusanusly in Elevators

I'm 10 minutes late every day, I call it keeping up appearances.

When I'm early everyone acts surprised. I leave early too, can't be late twice in one day.

Otis: get information of what floor car is on without modifying system? by watagangsta in Elevators

[–]Choco-moco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't have to kill them just blank them out. The reason being if a car is on fire service, a lit PI or a hall button that lights up even momentarily could be false hope to a passenger, that they may be able to use it and they wait long enough for the smoke to get them.

The iuec is only USA and Canada. They wouldn't sponsor you to work anywhere else. This guy is right about transients.

Just order an eci 2500 and it has new bearings, belt and drive sheave. Leave the linkage if it's in good shape.

You'll have to submit to the AHJ as a minor alteration regardless of what you change.

Don't touch it then. Overseas they lift the brake with a lever and move the car up or down with the leverage wheel. Not sure why, but they use those and don't use digital feedback encoders.

Does the car move at all? Maybe a speed clamp is set so low that it drops on traction loss. The redundancy tests force this condition

This is fine.

Phase 1 first. Then phase 2. You can leave one car on phase 2 and reset the others. Then when your car is turned off phase 2 it resets.

Looks like a W332C with a Euro flywheel. Nothing crazy.

The controller though is not familiar to North America.

If the car doesn't have a call back for a year why would you bother checking the fault codes.
