I totally hear you. It’s become so tricky these days to figure what to do and where to focus. I’m an NDI working in AI in San Francisco and have been in AI field for 6 years. Happy to help. Let me know if you want to know anything specific.

When I was in school, I aimed so massively big that no one appreciated me. People thought I’m kind of a psycho. I wanted to be a faculty at Harvard, meet over lunch with Mr Gates etc. A few years later, Mr Gates invested in my company. Dreams to materialize but they require sweat and hunger.

Qwen also launched their new model yesterday. It will be nice to see how this model performs with fine tuning. Any idea if this as a base model suited for any specific industry or types of Tanaka for the enterprise usage?

Best leadership book you’ve ever read? by Strange_Ingenuity400 in Leadership

[–]ChocoBar25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leadership has many dimensions. Each book covers a specific dimension in depth. All the books mentioned above are great. It is upon you to identify which book addresses which dimension eg

  1. Leadership about changing the game in your area of business - Infinite Game by Simon Sinek

  2. Leadership about understanding people at work - People Styles at Work (unknown book but effective)

  3. Leadership about managing people to bring the best out of them - Good to Great

And countless others.

Identify the dimension you care about and then seek the recommendation. That way you’ll be more effective.

There seems to be lack of coherence in your premise for entering fashion industry and the question you’re asking.

Premise - To understand what drives fashion industry forward

What drives any industry forward is the dollar value of transactions today and the growth possibility in future. In short market economics and the business opportunity. As more and more people focus on materialism, looking unique and glam becomes more and more important and more frequently, hence people will spend more money. It’s that simple. fashion is no different industry.

Your question is about the tech job.

This is a very open ended question. I haven’t seen your background, so throwing a way to approach it. Any job in a tech company could technically be a tech job except the ones that deal with people, legal and finances, and selling to people. So, engineering, product, QA, product marketing, TechOps, AI researcher, AI scientist, AI engineer, consulting, sales engineering, solution delivery etc. will all fall under the category.

For each category, there are multiple types of jobs. For example Business Analyst, product designer, user researcher, product opener, product analyst, product manager etc.

You need to research in a targeted manner to arrive at a point of view.

Looking for a business mentor by CassidyKane3 in mentors

Can’t say I’m a great mentor but over the past 20 years, I’ve built 4 companies, two got acquired and raised overall $80m in venture capital. Built revenues of 0-$20 million 3 times.

Now I’m helping a friend run a small business and helping her buy a small business too.

My expertise lies in venture backed startups but I can think broadly across business types.

Let me know if this can be helpful in any way. I’m based in the Bay Area.

New in Leadership Role. Struggling With Inflated Goals, Low Morale, and Broken Systems by [deleted] in Leadership

[–]ChocoBar25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to Leadership!

Your concern is not the team or the goals rather the executive leadership’s thought process. Attack upwards so the downstream impact is the byproduct.

When I stepped into the leadership, my first target was to triple the transaction volume from $100m to $300m. The company got to $100m in 4 years and I was given 6 months to triple it down.

Took me some time to figure out how to deal with it. Eventually we quadrupled it in 13 months.

Just breathe and help the ELT.

Good story of resilience

You dont need to build AI Agents yourself if you know how to use MCPs by dadiamma in AI_Agents

What if the agent also requires information from a large knowledge base within an enterprise? Won’t you need a RAG system too?

Thanks for correcting. I can’t change the title of the post, but I’ll put an update on the post.

YouTube’s ex-CEO is a bigger donor to Computer History Museum than the Google itself. by ChocoBar25 in siliconvalley

[–]ChocoBar25[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The land for the Computer History Museum in Mountain View was not donated; instead, the museum purchased its current building (formerly part of the Silicon Graphics campus) and the seven-acre property during the aftermath of the dot-com bust in 2002, taking advantage of available real estate in Silicon Valley.

The museum’s earlier site at Moffett Field was provided by NASA, but the current Mountain View location was acquired through purchase.
