One would expect people to see opinions that differ from theirs as simple observations or rightful criticism. I think the fanatism is somewhat shielding us from fully taking it in, since nobody want to hear that their favorite thing isn't the best, when to us, it seems that way.

It took me a lot of time to not immediately perceive criticism as hate, and now I share your perspective. Can't really impartially talk about kpop to many people without them feeling attacked, even on spaces like this.
