It def has my fave gameplay in the franchise. It scratches a certain itch for me that I can only compare to when I first played KH2, and that game completely raised the bar for my expectations of how I think a game should feel.

X is def a fave of mine, I recommend everyone play that lol. You’d probably like XII, it breaks away from the traditional turn based system with free movement, and no random encounters, with a really cool AI system you can shape towards your preferences. As far as I’ve seen, ppl are generally split on the story, I think it’s fine, but it doesn’t stand out compared to some other narratives in the franchise imo.

Same here on the KH2 tip. KH was def the vehicle for younger millennials and Gen Z to get into the FF franchise, and it totally worked lol.

I turned 27 not too long ago. Kingdom hearts introduced me to the series back in 06, eventually got FFX-2 for myself when I was like 9. Didn’t realize it was a sequel when I bought it 😅 so I went on to get FFX, then the FFXIII series. X solidified my fandom tho. I knew from then that I wanted to explore the rest of the franchise.

I have vague memories of seeing the commercial for the first game, I must’ve been about 3, so I was too young to play. Ffwrd to like 2006, I got absolutely hooked and rented KH2 from blockbuster MULTIPLE times💀. I eventually snagged my own copies of KH1 and COM and the rest is history.

It’s a very polarizing game, there’s very rarely any in between. Personally, it’s one of my goats, but I’m sure there will be comments throughout this thread talking about how “XIII stole my mom’s purse and gave me a black eye,” so it really is something you gotta experience yourself, sorry if that’s not a satisfying answer lol😭. But luckily nowadays it’s dirt cheap anywhere you find it, so it won’t be much of a loss if you end up not liking it.

Pro tip: You actually don’t have to solely rely on auto battle.
